Hey guys, Just thought i would post an observation. I see all kinds of posts putting down the sigmas. But i also see that they are almost never for sale in our guns for sale stuff. I myself have a SW40F and love it. Shoots more than accurate for my needs. And the trigger seems fine. I took my son out last week and brought a few pistols to shoot. He likes my Beretta 92. He got to shoot my SW40F for the first time and said he likes the way the trigger works. He also got to shoot my wifes 457 and kinda likes that one also. Says he wants some more time on the SW40F.

The resale value is pretty low id sell my SigmaVE but for what id get out of it, it just wouldn't be worth it. Id rather have a functioning handgun than the small amount of cash id be able to get for it

Agreed. I find my Sigma 9mm too good to let go. Since I have a Sig 40sw for SD I put the Sigma 9mm away for safekeeping. Once in a while I pull it out and go to the range along with the 40sw.

The Sigma is just one of those guns that it just doesnt make sense to sell. While it is by no means my favorite handgun or one that id consider for daily carry I just cant sell it. It more or less hangs out in the back of the safe. Every now and then ill take it if im going camping or hiking. With the release of the new SDVE Sigma resale prices have gone way down I have noticed that the SDs have held their value if not increased because they are no longer in production. I was recently offered $75 over what I paid for my SD40 at the range.

I bought my SW9VE from a very disappointed man who had only put one box through it.

I was looking for a high capacity 9 that fit my hand and didn't weigh a ton. So a polymer framed gun was in the running. And his loss was my gain.

I gave $200 for mine, virtually new. Yes the trigger was long and stiff. So a little smoothing work really helped. Now it's very good and I am more than confident in my ability to hit my target.

As far as reliability goes, I couldn't be happier. The factory sights work great for me.

I carry mine on a regular basis and practice at least once a week with it. It gets used.

Maybe it is because the Sigma owners are too busy at the range to bitch on the forums. Experienced revolver shooters have no problems with the trigger.

Well i live in Ma and we have to use preban for hicap mags. I have about $400 into mine. That includes 5 15rd prebans 2 10rd original case with paperwork. I have also read of people shooting these sigmas and they start out hitting low and left. Mine shoots high. Had to file down the rear sight on mine to hit just above where i aim. I love the way this gun points. I aso like the smooth look of my SW40F.

They are not "hi-capacity" mags they are normal capacity.....if anything the 10 round mags are low capacity. Hi-cap mags is just a BS term used for gun control same thing as "assault rifle".

Thanks for the info. Yes agreed. 10rd would be downloaded from original.

That's correct. Any gun that's made to hold this many are considered normal capacity. Like my Sigma 9mm, it's made to hold 16+1 and that's normal capacity.

That's right- these guns were originally designed for 14, 15, 16, etc., rounds
of ammo, and so those mags are "standard" capacity. 10 round mags are "reduced" capacity or "low" capacity mags.

I agree with cbr6864. My Sigma9ve has made me a better shooter with every handgun I own. The trigger has gotten a lot better over time. It always functions perfectly. I bought at the time of the first rebate and took the two magazines. The best value in a new gun I have run across.
