Not sure if this is the right forum, but hopefully someone can set me straight. I own a lot of guns but never had one with Scandium before. It's a Model 360PD and I'm unsure of what to clean it with? I saw a post saying that some products don't interact well with the Scandium, but it didn't mention specifics.

What do you guys use on yours? Is it ok to use a brass brush inside the barrel? I assume the barrel has a steel lining, but just want to make sure.

I have a 329PD, same scandium frame / titanium cylinder construction. The scandium is just a type of aluminum alloy with trace amounts of scandium added to increase strength. The black finish is anodizing, just like you would find on many other aluminum items. There is no special requirement for cleaning the outside surface of the frame. Just wipe the carbon residue off with whatever you like to use on steel frame revolvers and wipe the exterior clean with a slightly oily or silicone impregnated cloth and you're fine.

The titanium cylinder is the thing you need to be careful with. Never use anything abrasive on the cylinder; just scrub it with bore cleaner and a toothbrush and the chamber with patches you'd use for the bore and wipe it clean with an oily cloth. If you scrub it with anything that is abrasive, you remove the naturally occurring oxide layer that forms on the surface that gives it its corrosion resistance.

The barrel is 2-piece. Only the outside shroud is scandium alloy. The actual barrel is a stainless steel tube inside the scandium shroud. Clean it the same as you would for any blued or stainless revolver.
