Took a trip up to the summer cabin before the snow started to fly
but not soon enough to beat two days of light rain all day, that put
a damper on walks and enjoying, basking in the sun on the front porch. Our grand daughter and husband came up for the fresh air
in the National forest as well as for him to get some use out of his two day fishing license.

I brought a lot of wood, since the last trip up was wet & cold, for
a late summers day in the southen Tahoe area and I wanted everyone to be warm and happy and 90% of it was used.

I was hoping that there was still, enough water in the high elevation rivers
for me to show Donny how to cacth my favorite trout,
the wild and very tasty, Eastern Brook trout, that are in a lot of the streams and lakes, in this area.

Even though it rained on both outings, my lessons worked and on the next day, he was on his own and catchind "Wild Trout"
and having a fantastic time.

On the second day, I dismissed myself to go back to the car,
to warm my body and hands up, from the 43 degree, wet and windy day, after two hours of fun. (?) :D

Here is a picture from the first days trip, that will be enjoyed for
breakfast or supper, soon.

Tight lines for all of you that are still wetting a line.

A nice mess of fish! Trout and eggs for breakfast.

Ed, we spend some summers in Hope Valley. Great place and some Great fishing around the. First time there was in1958. Know that country well.

A funny year, per temperatures, in Hope valley this year.
The sap did not get cut off, due to high temps and a late freeze,
which ment there is no "Orange or Red" in the trees yet, just a green and yellow
that made for a boring late trip, this late in the season, for us.

Usually the 88/89 intersection is full of Fall colors to enjoy and hike through, but not this year, as yet.
Lots of rain, in the last three weeks and maybe snow when the temps drop more ,in ten days or so.

No more fishing, since it is almost "spawning time" , looking at the condition of the trout, that we cleaned.
In 3 weeks or so, the eggs should start to seperate.

If some of you are wondering why there are 4" brookies in my picture
it is due to damage to the fish in handling or landing, since when fly fishing
many a small fish is sent air born on the hook set and can land
40 feet behind a fisherman learning the trade!!

All small fish are kept in the stream for revival, hopefully.
