OFFICIAL (IN STOCK) 22LR AMMO THREAD

I'm new just wondering why some post disappear

Good question.

We usually don't do many post deletions in threads unless they specifically break Forum Rules. However, this thread is a bit unique because of it's extraordinary high traffic and viewing. The purpose is to reduce the number of totally unrelated postings so people can more easily find what this thread is about---> In stock .22LR ammo

For example: Your post was deleted because it was about a gun that you bought -- ISSC MKII. Had nothing to do at all with the topic here. No big deal, but if I had left it up someone would have replied-- Hey I got one too, how do you like yours?. Then someone else would have posted -- Great trainer for the 16S. Then someone else would have posted -- I like ARs better, they are lighter and far less expensive...on and on. Pretty soon we no longer have an avaliable ammo thread but rather a collection of unrelated topics.

Quite often we delete postings because they are argumentative and lead to bickering. Postings get deleted that are just moaning and groaning about prices, gouging, hoarding and all the rest. See post #2770

After I get done here I'll be deleting a bunch of chit-chatting about some old chain store named Gibsons and others posts that haven't anything to do with the topic here.

Pretty simple really--- Before you submit a post, ask yourself if it is at least somewhat pertaining to the topic here and/or helping folks find ammo. If not, don't press the Submit Reply button. This is a great Forum, and if you'd like to discuss something that doesn't fit in any of the S&W Forum sections, we have The Lounge for general discussion too.

No need for reply.

See how quickly unrelated topic chatter grows.... There's over 500 people this very minute reading this section of the Forum. No need for everyone to wade through all this.

I remember Gibsons. Big 5 stores are smaller (dimension)

Texas box store/sporting good chain in the 60s and 70s.

Whoa!!! That takes me back :eek:

Yeah I'm not too young at 37 but I've never heard of Gibsons

I'm in Colorado.... I don't remember Gibsons... at this point in my life, I'll take being called young as a good thing. :D

Did they take the place of Gibsons, or are you too young to remember them? :)

I thought that chain was bigger, cause here in California we have em all over the place

Big 5 is a sporting goods chain in Texas and the western US.

I bet Big 5 management would be interested to know their staff is lining their pockets at the expense of the customer.

What is a big 5 and where is this?

I went to a local big 5 and they were dry but the store manager was telling me how his co-worker has about 15,000 rounds of 22 and that helped fund his Vegas trip, how funny..... A bunch of these guys are buying everything before it even hits the shelves, that's ridiculous

Hi first, post, but I have to say thanks for this thread. While my first pistol is a 22, this thread has helped me with finding ammo and finding GunBot.

A note on that ammo at Ammo Supply Warehouse/ Last night they were gaming GunBot.

They would post low quantities, like 5 or 10 of that same ammo. It started at $150/1000, then 160 and so on up to 190. It sold slower, but people are paying it. Also, when they run out of the inventory, the link might go bad or no longer show the product. Give them a few minutes to update the inventory and it will be back.

My LGS got a pallet of Remington Yellow Jackets and it seems a bunch of other retailers got Remington as Gunbroker recently exploded with Remington Golden Bullet etc at crazy prices.

I had some success at my local WalMart, was able to get 6 9wife and I each bought the three limit) 325ct Federal a couple weeks ago. Most of the walmarts are getting various items regularly, you just need to be an early bird and be there in the morning when they stock. Some stock at night when it comes in. You can always call to find out.

I guess my point is, if you're desperate for 22LR, pay the high prices. Otherwise, it appears stuff is coming in, but some of these online retailers want you to think it's sparse. I know Midway had some, at normal prices and it sold instantly.

Thank you all again, and while I don't have a S&W I'll gladly offer up anything I come across since this thread helped me.

Cabelas

After all the help from this thread, I am finally able to contribute. Columbus opened a Cabelas last Thursday and I have been able to score two 1600 cans of CCI Minimags the last two days for $260 including tax or 8.1 cents/round (Sorry for shooting and sharing w/ buddies, no selling) following this strategy:
1) Found they restock their ammo each night
2) Store opens at 8 - line up at 7:45 (I was the third and fifth person in line the last two days)
3) Run to the ammo section. I would estimate the 10 cans they had were all gone within a minute of the store opening.

Hopefully you all will have some luck following this strategy or LGS.

I'm thinking supply is starting to catch up.
Few LGS in NorCal are allowing 200rnds/day purchasing limit.

Hope everyone has a fire resistant safe with thick enough walls or we are in for some scarey home/apt fires come the next few years.

Agreed, was able to purchase 2500rds, from walmart, sportmans warehouse and big5, all local stores

I found 1 555 Pack of Federal at my local CT Walmart last week, and "scored" a white bax (100 round) box of 9mm, and 2 boxes of 100 round .45 today. It's hit or miss around central CT right now.

<deleted> Sorry I posted a link to 22 blanks. Didnt realize it until after I posted. I removed the link.

Either things are getting better, or I am learning to play the game better. I have scored about 1500 rounds in the last 2 weeks. I think when it all gets here I will be good for a while, and let some others get some inventory.

1 per customer for $100 rounds??? It will cost more to ship than to buy it lol
