Went to a Gun show today In Jacksonville FL. Prices:
100 round CCI Mini Mags $35.00
375 Choot'em Mini Mags $95.00
325 Federal AutoMatch $75.00
525/550 Federal 36gr HP $110.00
500 Blazer $80.00

Needless to say I bought Nothing.

The gun show in Springdale, Arkansas isn't nearly that insane. I agree there are some are charging that, but most of the vendors are keeping the 22lr prices around $50-$65/brick.

I saw a poor lady that just bought 2 bricks at $100/ea and I should have stepped in and told the seller to go to hell and take her around to a different stall with better priced ammo.

I had ordered too much online and was trying to sell/trade for just a couple of bucks profit to pay for the ammo I actually wanted. I ended up selling 14 bricks to a Boy Scout Troop Master for $54/brick (about my cost delivered).

That address has a telephone number that is listed to a hick's inc.Looks like hicks inc is a sporting goods seller also. You can google hicks inc and get number.I ordered 2000 round of the golden bullets friday so we will see what they say come monday morning.

I called the 800 number and did get a VM. We'll see tomorrow morning whether we've been scammed or not. My money is on having to cancel with my bank.

CCI shotshells any good?

hello, am new to the forum. have S&W 22A, not fired yet as waiting to take training/safety class first.

classes are just as hard to get as ammo! signed up 4 months ago.

glad I stocked up before sandy hook (which would never had happened if the mother locked up everything) but want to get more for training use.

is CCI shotshell any good? its in stock for quite a while now. or because it is expensive at 37cents. the most important thing I learned from this thread is the importance of Velocity for semiautos.

by the way, gmail is marking as spam anything related to guns, survival and preparedness. finally figured out why i wasn't getting the forum registration emails

thanks

If you are concerned about a website might be fraud, use a Temporary/One-Time credit card number such as Bank of America's ShopSafe. Once you have fraud, you will have to change the number and it can be a big hassle if that card was used for recurring billings.

.22 Shotshell has it's place for rats or snakes I guess but for all practical uses it's not any good. I would certainly not use it for any type of training using your 15-22.....it is very unlikely to be accurate or cycle reliably in your rifle.

Keep looking at the smaller places, they will have .22 ammo coming in fairly regular usually.

Thats good to know, I was worried that I would have issues with some CENTURION im still waiting on. Its made in the same place, I guess its there off brand name brand, kinda like white box Winchester.

Let me know about the Centurion. I went through a brick last year but all in revolvers. Had some failure to fire, but they were real cheap back then so no biggie. I have been passing them up at a lgs here but maybe I'll try their minimum of two boxes as an experiment.
It would be awesome if the latest 15-22's would handle them!

I've got a case of Centurion 22lr 40gr - 1250fps coming this week. I should be able to report how they work in my 15-22 next weekend.

The 22 lr shotshell I used spreads too much once you re beyond 10ft from the target.

I just checked my bank account and it's already showing that hunters-warehouse has already taken the money out, so if I don't hear from the tomorrow I am guessing I am going to have to deal with this through my bank. They shouldn't already be taking money out if the product isn't in stock so they can ship it out.

New here, but been following this thread for sometime. Was able to score some nice purchases - thanks to the members on here.

Thought I contribute a little something about lohmanarms.com. I think this is a relatively new site. I Binged the contact number and came up with another site - Houston Annuites, Variable & Immediate Annuity, Get Quotes & Purchase Annuities Houston TX 77041.

The owner's number is also listed as a FFL dealer as noted here:
FFL Registry: Brian William Lohman Lohman Arms Company (Dealer)

I don't think I would personally order from a new site. I wouldn't believe that someone new to market would suddenly have a good deal amount of ammo in stock, his site now reads as everything is in backorder. I think I'll stick to the larger sites that read what's in stock and shows real time inventories. Just my opinion.

Someone earlier mentioned gander mtn in Lubbock. Not to much long ago their was an individual that was arrested for pulling concealed weapon during line, apparently he was upset about something.

Gander Mtn and Academy both have .22s coming in Lubbock but you have to get there early to get it. I found Fred's Emporium had some but was charging .15/ round and only leaving 2 boxes on shelf at a time. Didn't buy from him.

Here where I live in South Texas it's hit and miss with inventories. Don't understand Walmart's inventory system. Which a question that was raised earlier in thread. But at one point I was told if the website said we have it, then we have it. After lady went to back to find it she then told me that they didn't have any and I couldn't trust what website said. Two conflicting statements within 10 minute period does raise some questions.

Anyways my first post. Thanks again.

They have taken the $$ from my account as well. I've sent them an email asking for inventory status and a shipping date. I'll call the hicks number in the AM and try to get some answers. My spider sense tells me this is going to require bank intervention and a new card number.

Just got back from the gun show again today in Springdale, AR. Warn everyone you know and see at gun shows about AmmoDirect.com's booth (big yellow sign). They are price gougers that prey on people that don't know what they are doing. They were selling 22lr for $100/brick and the federal bulk packs for $125. I should have gotten pics.

From what I gather they don't pay more than $40/brick. Typical markup is 40% ($55, which reputable sellers were asking)

I'm going to wait and see. Natchez has taken the money out of my account as well and nothing has been shipped yet. J&G pre-authorized and then shipped and then took the money out. I will be interested to see what you find out tomorrow. Right now it is still a pre-authorization. There are no additional charges and from looking on the web, the site seems legit. At this point I would just be curious if they have things on back order.
