Curt's Shooting Supply

For those of you in the Portland, OR area Curt's has several boxes of CCI Tactical 375 rounds for $39.99. They are located on McLaughlin just noth of Jennings.

It looks like manufacturing is catching up. I am seeing more and more come in to places like Academy sports and Bass pro. I also am seeing people trying to get 20 cents a round locally not being able to sell. This is good.

I thought the follow picture might be of interest to those shopping for unfamiliar ammo brands such as Centurion. I bought this 5000rd case from LuckyGunner for $420 plus shipping (8.4 cents/rd). I placed this order last Friday and it arrived on Tues. That's pretty fast shipping from my perspective given the weight of a 22lr case.

The packaging is of a high quality including the plastic 50rd ammo trays in each small box. Of course until I fire several hundred rounds I won't be confident in its reliability in my 15-22. I've fired over 1500 rds without a single failure of any type using CCI SV so the standard is pretty high from my perspective. I hope to report back on reliability later this weekend for those that might be interested in buying this brand made in Mexico (I believe by Aguilar).

Quick update and short review of this Centurion 22lr ammo after 200 rds this evening. Not a single failure of any type. Definitely more powerful (and louder) than the CCI SV I have been using. On the 100yd range this ammo has a less of a drop (not surprising given 1250fps vs the 1050fps of the CCI SV).

Both my son and I felt we would could place these rounds within the 1st ring of the bullseye with a 2.5-10x40 scope with relative ease. With the 10x scope this ammo was just slightly below the cross hair at 100yds. With the CCI SV we were at a full mildot below the crosshair.

I just cleaned the gun to get a sense of how dirty the ammo is and it was far less than I expected given the claim that it is "dirty ammo". I recently cleaned the gun after 300 rds of CCI SV and I would estimate that this ammo would be about the same or slightly dirtier but not by very much, if at all.

If you have the opportunity to grab this ammo next time there's a big shipment from Mexico, I would make the buy. I know I will again if its available.

Like others were saying most if not all Basspros had a few boxes come in (Rossford, OH location).

When I got there all they had was 525 boxes of Federal value packs (for ~$24.48 after tax) so around 4.66 cents each.

I don't know if its protocol or they are just ill informed but I called bass pro this morning and they said they had no 22lr in stock but the mega pack remington .40 250ct. I went in and behold..... about 20 525 federal boxes right behind the counter. So calling hasn't been the best for me. Just take the drive.

Edit. The time was noon when I got to the bass pro shop. No idea when they put them out.

Yeah all of them are behind the counter, so it is probably newbs working the phones ("oh, none are on the shelves, we must not have any!").

Centurion

I also got in 5k rounds of these the other day from Lucky gunner have ran 3500 through 7 rifles 1 ftf they were shot through 2 marlin model 60 one model 99 one 6081 one cricket one savage model 64 and a 10/22 no more dirty than any other target grade .22lr. Id buy it in a heart beat and to top it off I ordered my ammo on Thursday and I got it on Friday wow. Im only one state away but still.

Centurion

This whole shortage business has led me to try some new brands. I've found Centurion, other than a bit of a funky smell, to be really excellent. As some else noted, the packaging is quite nice, too.

I've also had to deal with some new merchants. Some good, some not so good. I will remember those that did their best to support their customers, resisting the opportunism associated with some short term pricing power.

got lucky tonight at Walmart. got the very last box of Remington golden hollow points, 325 rounds for 9.99. i have read reviews on both sides of this ammo. hope it works for me.

I just checked the walmart APP for my local store and they are showing CCI, and Federal in stock. I called ad the lady I spoke with said there is a freight in route and any AMMO on that truck will be put out overnight. Earlier today there was no AMMO on stock when I checked with the APP. Hoping to score some in the morning

App worked for me today after arguing with the guy in sporting goods that it was in stock, had to get a manager and sure enough it was in the back off of a new truck. The app works!

I'm not sure about this site. The stock numbers are going down, but I came up with an $80 shipping charge for a case. 4.5 cents a round and 2.5 cents to ship each one, for a total of 7 cents each. If you really need them right now it's not too bad, but the way I look at it that $80 would buy another 2,000 rounds at Walmart.
