Excellent link...good read.

I've never critized Wal Mart for any of their business practices, I just always find it amusing what I encounter within the stores. They all seem to be a parallel universe, with people that I neither see or encounter anywhere else. It's kinda freaky!

I live close to a Wally Super Center and I spend far more money there than I wish I did. There are other grocery stores within a couple of miles, but they just don't have the selection and price. You literally feel like your are throwing your money away to pay 30% more for something than you could have got it at Wally.

The customers are the real circus. You just wonder where in hell did they come from? You see more bizarre individuals and behavior at Wally than any where else. Wally would be an excellent place for someone doing some kind of graduate sociological study of various aberrant behaviors!

Now sometimes I'll go to another store just not to have to fight the crowds at Wally World, but I always feel guilty.

Wally is here to stay, they are definitely doing something right and they fit a very big niche in our retail world.

Mr Platt tells it like it is is a good place to work. I worked there before I retired and was very impressed with their entire operation. No place is perfect, but Wal Mart beats most other retail companies when it come to working conditions.

I shop at Sams Club frequently, Wal-Mart sometimes, in the long and distant past I bought ammunition there (sigh).
My favorite story which may have been posted here, is about Wal-Mart and their proposed Chicago Store, incredible!

Wife worked at Wally World for a while and liked it. The local one now has shelf's full of ammo, and you can only buy two boxes at a time. Cut these guys out of buying it all then selling for a higher price at the gun show.

WM has provided gainful, American-owned employment to a couple people I know who have serious disabilities, good people who essentially could never hold a regular paycheck in other lines of work.

WM is the best at what they do, and get better all the time. Isn't THAT what America is supposed to be about?

Very interesting. It sure is refreshing to see someone in the MSM actually research a topic before writing about it. Kind of a unique approach in this day and age.

I used to take pride in never having been inside a WallyWorld. Then one day I had to. It was work related, so I went. Remember the bar scene from the Star Wars movie?

Pretty close. The animals they either let in or kept there were amusing to say the least.

Then I realized they had ammo. At lower prices than anyplace else. They won a convert. Then, low and behold, I ventured into the automotive section. They had Mobil 1 for a couple of bucks less than anyone else.

They'll never get the $200,000 out of me, unless its for a lot of ammo. I prefer to reload my own, except rimfire. But $13.47 per Federal bulk pack is good.

If they have changed their ways it's because of pressure from their customers-or non customers
as the case may be. Nothing like a little competition to get people to see the error of their ways.
