The racist instigators and the do gooders will not be satisfied until the police are disarmed. It is almost to the point that officers are afraid to draw their gun and incur all the adverse publicity and the end of their career.

This is so dehumanizing---why don't they just try talking and reasoning with the perp ? What we need are police that are skilled in language and reasoning in order to keep them from becoming violent.
There I have spoken--and ALL need to see the reasoning and adapt to MY way of thinking.

There are millions of police contacts, many of them dangerous, where a skilled tongue and calm manner solves the situation. That goes on every day! There are very few uses of deadly force in comparison. There are many, many situations where deadly force is justifiable, where it endangers officers not to use it, that turn out in the police favor and an arrest is made without serious injury. If you have not been an officer, you have no idea of the things that go on.

It's high time for the police agencies in this country to turn in their barbaric lethal weapons, once and for all. A police officer, proficient in the use of a paddle ball can inflict a series of nasty welts on a scofflaw, with the added fiscal advantage of the rubber-band returning the rubber ball back to him, ever ready to turn his attention on the next "perp". Yeah, let's hamstring the police a little more than we already have. Now we force them to decide whether or not to take the time to put this plastic gizmo on their gun before they shoot the bad guy. I say let's "militarize" them as much as we can. These guys are as much the heroes as our military. Our military protect us from overseas threats and our LE personnel protect us domestically. I'm not law enforcement but, if I were, I'd want as much protection and resources I could get to do my job. We're not living in the same world we did years ago. Bad guys are committing crimes now that we haven't seen in the past. Our military, law enforcement and firemen are all heroes and put their life on the line for us every day. They shouldn't be criticized for how they do their jobs.

The major flaw I see with this is : When have you read a story where the officer only fired once? I'm sure there are some out there but I haven't seen or read of any in the media.

All of the self defense training I've had has been 2 to the body and 1 to the head! In the Corps, when pulling armory guard duty, the OOD would point to his head and say "Shoot them in the leg, understand?".

Bottom line, if you don't want to be shot and die don't do stupid stuff! The officers in Ferguson should just strike and see how long it takes that place to collapse and become Detroit 2.

Well it used to be two rounds center mass then lower the weapon to the ready position. Second round could do the trick reckon. Are we could have the bad guys act like normal people and quit being a bunch of ----heads.

I think this full auto gun would be more appropriate. It will fire a flurry of high speed disks that will confuse and disorient the perp. But, it could possibly cause a nasty eye abrasion.
