Senator Smith along with Cosponsors: Senators Brown, Kearney, Skindell, Tavares, Turner - have introduced Ohio's "Assault Weapons Ban", along with a firearms and ammunition transaction database.

This would include ANY weapon capable of accepting a magazine larger then 10 rounds (not just rifles). This would ban almost all semi-automatic rifles and handguns along with any gun with a fixed magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds. There are no exceptions - including no exception for .22lr rifles.

About the only thing you would be allowed to own would be a revolver. There is no "Grandfathering". Possession of said "Assault Weapon" after enactment would be a 5th degree felony.

All firearms and ammunition purchases would be tracked in a database created and maintained by the BCI. (The Bureau of Criminal Identification)

They are coming for your guns.

Well, with a Republican Gov, House and Senate, this bill doesn't have a snowballs chance in passing. But, the nice thing about stupid bills like this is that it clearly shows the goals of the Left.

I have spoken to many people recently that thought, "that could never happen". Introducing stupid laws like this are bringing many over to our side. (Pro-2nd Amend)

Nope, that won't see the light of day.
The usual list of mentally challenged sponsors tells us who to watch out for, though.

Read it and learn. The state legislatores of today are federal legislatores of tomorrow. You don't think they know this bill won't go anywhere but they are staking out positions for the consumption of the National stage.

I hope you are correct. It would be nice to think something good comes from the activities of these types, but I think the vast majority of the "disinterested" are truly just that - disinterested. They don't really care about our problems. They have enough problems of their own, and in some cases those problems are pretty basic - like food, fuel, heat for their homes, and supporting their children. It is really a crime that the inane "leadership" of this country (and the State of Ohio) is wasting valuable time on stuff like this when there is so much important, nay crucial, work that HAS to be done - before it is too late. The clock is ticking and the dolts are "asleep at the switch."

I dont think it has a chance at all of passing, but I called my state senator last week and asked that he vote against it.
