OK Texans this is the Bill to Support.

I'd sure like to see Constitutional Carry here in Tenn. In the meantime, we've been chipping away at infringements as has Texas and most other states the past couple decades. Moving in the right direction isn't something I find offensive, but rather something to celebrate. That said, I do agree with you that infringements are the definition of offensive.

I think it's possible that Constitutional Carry could sweep the nation over the next 25 years as Shall Issue did the past 25. But there's still a ton of gun owners that are on the side of Bloomberg and his gaggle of nags when it comes to the subject. Just not psychologically prepared to embrace the notion of freedom. Hopefully the more infringements we continue to chip away will help them understand that freedom isn't so frightening.

Or it could go backwards. The SF case recently refused by the SCOTUS sent shivers down my spine.

Now that makes WAY more sense than open carry and also makes OC look like a huge waste of time & effort. But maybe it was a necessary stepping stone this end.

Yeah... It's been so long since I've actually been inside a Whataburger, that I don't recall if they actually fly a Gunbuster sticker on their door, or not (I don't think they do).
Oh well... If I do just gotta have one, I'll Open Carry in the Drive-Thru (and let them know that I'm disappointed in Corporate's decision).

They are fine with concealed carry, just no open carry. I have already been in the drive-thur with a loaded riot shotgun in the passenger seat. Didn't seem to bother the employees at all.

Gun Buster signs don't comply with 30:06, but you probably know that. I think the new law adds a different sign for open carry, 30:07 maybe.

To me it's the principle of the matter. Not that I think Whattaburger is all that great in the first place. I had a particularly bad meal in east Texas last year. That's beside the point, though.

Anyway, even though I don't expect to open carry if I"m in Texas next year, I still won't go to Whattaburger.

their restaurant, their rules
my money, my choice

I choose not to spend my money at a business that wishes to ban a lawful act. No hard feelings. I don't feel the need to sue them like the thin-skinned victim-mentality morons. There are plenty of hamburger joints.

There are plenty of BETTER hamburger joints, at least IMHO.

As to no hard feelings, as John Wayne said in "Big Jake", "The Hell there ain't."

I get a delay every time I go through NICS. I looked in to how to deal with this and it was basically getting finger-printed and registering myself with the FBI. No thanks! My other option is a CHL.

Call me paranoid, but either way, you're registering yourself as a gun owner with either the State or Federal govt.

If you're going through NICS, then you're already on record as a gun owner. Otherwise, why would you be going through NICS?

You don't want to get fingerprinted and register?
If you get your CHL, you're going to need to get fingerprinted and go through an extensive background check anyway.
But... once you have your CHL, you won't have to deal with NICS checks any more, when you purchase firearms.
