I think the barrel is an 1 1/2 S# is 6756 would like to know when made. THANKS Ben

S&W made both a tip-up and a top-break model they called Model 1 1/2. Which one is yours? Also, if the gun in question is either type, this thread belongs in the Antique section.
 
Thanks boy I am home now and the gun is in Cal jest was trying to help a friend. I thought the first 4 S # would had worked.

Not with out telling us the total # of digits in the serial #!

Also Most models had their own serial # range.

Also make sure your friend measures the entire barrel length, not just the part of the barrel that sticks out of the frame if it has a swing out cylinder.
