Oldest gun you carry

I had to up my game. 1888 - but 246 grains times 6 should still get it done. It safely saw me on my travels on the wild streets of Castle Rock today.

I hear you. You might note that my Police Positive Special was made in 1958 as well.

Buddy of mine is carrying a like new condition .38 Special Police Positive which we dated to 1920. He got caught off guard by the pandemic gun & ammo shortage and had to salvage a piece from his granddads gun collection...to keep on hand for home defense when the rioting was going on all around the nation this past Summer.

I've posted this sentiment before but it fits the thread, so: in the early sixties my Dad traded his snubby .38 for a Colt 1908. He said he couldn't hit anything with the snubby and prefered Colt autos. He was a Marine. Didn't give it a second thought. He carried that gun for most of his career as a P.O. When the Parkinson's disease kicked in he gifted the Colt to me and moved on to a Taurus Judge. He had no problem kicking a 5 gallon can around the lawn with that one.
Later, I checked the serial number on the Colt 1908 and found it was 1922 vintage. Dad spent his entire career carrying an antique. I still have the Colt and his holster and carry it on the property on occasion.

Was my Dad's service revolver K-38 from 1947-8 until it was stolen last May. Being held in evidence by the Feds.....might get it back in 20-25 years.

An M1911 made in March 1918. Kind of a nostalgia/Army pride thing for me. I bought it more than 30 years ago from a retired doctor in Carmel, California. He carried it as a forward observer with C Battery 4th of the 76th Field Artillery through the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne offensives. That regiment really had it tough for an artillery unit, suffering about 50 KIA and 300 WIA. It's also kind of comforting to know that what you're carrying can do it and has done it when called upon.

If it's not the smith 2.0 Shield it's Colt 1903 are the Colt 1908. The colts lay so flat in the belt holster that no one knows your carrying. Have located a supposedly factory chrome 1903. Will make a play for it soon.

H&K

Though I do not routinely carry it, I sometimes carry a Heckler and Koch P7-M8.

It's circa 1991 vintage and bought new by me.

It is a very nice gun. Many think it's the finest handgun ever made. I tend to agree, but by no means am I an expert in the world of handguns.

Be safe.

For EDC it used to be a Walther (Interarms) .380 PPK/S that I bought used in the 80's but no idea of the date.

I've carried the 1980 64-3 a few times tromping though the woods around here but my current EDC rotate around the 6906, Bodyguard .380, and Kimber Solo depending on the social work that may be anticipated.

S&W .38 Double Action Second Model

I picked it up at Big Al's Gun Range & Pawn Shop in Broward County back under Bush 43's second term for about $300. THe gun was refinished at one point in its life. But it was masterfully done and everything is tight on that gun.

I had a pile of .38 S&W ammo to feed my British Lend Lease Victory Model. So I've carried it off and on over the years. It was made in 1882.
