Oldest Guy

Age

coming up on 71 in a couple of weeks. After 3 stints and a new Aortic Cow Valve.Really I feel pretty good.I hope to have a lot more birthday,s.

Will be 70 this September. Don't move as fast or as often as I use too but I'm still moving. Just spent 3 weeks with my wife shooting ground squirrels and traveling 2000 miles. Two more trips planed that will add another 7,000 miles to our yearly travels. Can't wait to get to Texas to shoot some pigs.

I'm only 62 but my odometer has tripped several times. I'm the perfect example of "if I'd have known I would live this long I would have taken much better care of myself". My motto in the early years was "live hard, die young and be a nice looking corpse". Now that I'm way beyond looking nice, I want to hang around a while longer.

I was in the oven when the Japs bombed Pearl Harbor and born in May, 1942 which makes me 76. Just had my annual check-up today and the doc was fretting away trying to find something wrong. He heard a vague heart murmur so he ordered an EKG. The chart showed the murmur so he was pleased with himself, but admitted it was so minor to not be a problem. I was glad to give him something to do.

On a different tack, I saw Neil Young up above and boy do I dislike that guy. First of all he isn't even a rocker! He's a damn folkie blowing in a harmonica and whining about something...and his voice sux! I agree with Lynyrd Skynyrd and I'm a northerner. If he was a real rocker he'd be dead by now so my goal is to outlast him.

I'll be 67 in a few days. My dad died at 68 and his dad at 48. I'm far from the oldest here and also far from the wisest but I do like to hang out here when I'm home......

It sounds like I'm in middle age for this group. I am thankful each day that I am looking down at the grass, and that I had the sense and wherewithal to retire 2 1/2 years ago. I have medical opinion that if I hadn't retired when I did I'd be dead now.

I tell people I am 68. Though when I mention my Army experiences people ask:
"Did you see action?"
"Yes. Cuban Campaign, 1898."
