We lost another one -

Oliva's husband, John Easterling, says she died peacefully at her ranch in Southern California Monday morning, surrounded by family and friends. Oliva has battled breast cancer for more than 30 years, a specific cause of death was not given, although a source close to Oliva told TMZ, "After a 30-year cancer journey, she lost her battle to metastatic breast cancer."

Olivia Newton-John Dead at 73

---

Can't imagine fighting cancer for 30 years.

But, she left quite a long list of hits that we can remember her by.

It's not been a good week to be a female Australian singer.

I cannot like this comment, but it is 100% correct.:( RIP, pretty lady.

Small point. Olivia was actually born in England of British and German parents, but she did take Australian citizenship.

Instead of sending all our money to other countries we should focus on more important things at home. If we attacked cancer like we did our enemies in wars, I feel some great progress and maybe a cure could be found for such a horrid disease. We all know friends and relative who were robbed of a good life by this disease.
A personal note, July 5th, 1976, I was in the hospital room and witnessed my first born take her first breath. Thirty-nine years, 57 days and 20 minute later I lay in bed with her as she took her last breath as she died of breast cancer. She did nothing to deserve such a short life. All efforts should be made to rid the world of cancers of all types.

She was a talented, vivacious singer who lived life the best she could. It's very unfortunate that no matter how successful and wealthy she was, she had to suffer with battling cancer for decades. She will be missed.
