I have for the last few years, no issues. What happened?

I check the discounted meat every time I go to Safeway. Marked down 50% or more on big packages. I get pork chops and beef roasts, mostly.

I do the same. Meat is the biggest chunk of the grocery budget so it makes sense to pay attention.

Couple of months ago local Safeway advertised rib-eyes for $4.95 per pound, so I put a dozen in the freezer. Boneless chuck roasts for $2.99, time to stock up again. Love the boneless skinless chicken breasts, especially when on sale at $0.89 lb. Whole or half smoked hams at $0.88 per pound, a couple of those go a long way (ham steaks on the grill, ham sandwiches, BBQ ham, ham & beans, split peas & ham, lots of good eating).

Lobo:

Those boneless chuck (and round roasts) are good for stew & soup meat (I got short ribs for about $3.00 a pack last week), chile Colorado, fajitas, and as a roast (of course). Carne asada meat makes good jerkey, stir fry, fajitas, etc. Sometimes there will be pork roasts/tenderloins or spare ribs. They had a bunch of frozen Tony Roma's ribs about 6 months ago and some corned beef after St Paddy's Day=stocked up on about a dozen briskets.

I've ordered from Omaha Steaks for years. For the most part I was very pleased. Sadly their prices have gone up and the quality has gone down. They are still a quick and easy order for a low key gift.

Yeah, I've given them to my parents for Christmas before because it's kinda easy. I did the math one time though and I think the cost worked out to something like $40 a pound.

My solution to a steak fix is this:

Starting over the next couple of weeks, many/most, almost all of the major grocery chains will feature Rib Eye roast/ standing rib roast at very attractive prices. In my area and after sale price with extra for coupon these run about 6 to 7 bucks a pound. I buy the Christmas roast , I have that custom cut, and then buy several more precut roasts. These I cut up into steaks. Usually about 1-1/2 to 2 inches thick. VacPck them and have quality streak for the grill all winter and into the summer (when good streak will be about 10 bucks a pound.) Still eating the streaks I bought at Easter(when they had the same deal.)

I got a email from them the price was 69 bucks the same thing on tv is 79.
