From Here to Omaha - 2019 (College Baseball)

Some excitement yesterday with Auburn's walkoff home run in the bottom of the 9th, and today with Texas A & M's walkoff grand slam in the bottom of the 9th.

I spent time today visiting a lot of the Vegas online betting houses. This is a general consensus of what da bookies tink.

Super Regionals Predictions:

UCLA-Oregon State

Oklahoma State-Texas Tech

Arkansas-Illinois

Arizona State-Georgia

Vanderbilt-Texas A&M

East Carolina-Louisville

Mississippi State-Fresno State

North Carolina-Auburn

College World Series Prediction:

Vanderbilt over Arkansas

The field of 16 has been announced. The following teams will not be participating.

Oregon State
Illinois
Arizona State
Georgia
Texas A&M
Fresno State

Congratulations to the 6 teams that did make the field instead.

Stanford
Michigan
LSU
Duke
Florida State
Ole Miss

Perhaps the "Gurus" in Vegas should switch their crystal ball to a different frequency. The grind for all the teams becomes more intense and the expectations of their fans ratchets up a few notches.

Let's hope for good weather, good officiating, good sportsmanship and plenty of good baseball.

Michigan has certainly caught my attention. Well coached, good pitching, a solid field general behind the plate and a shoebox full of long ball hitters. They could be a sleeper.

PS: my UNC handbook says: "No rooting for Duke." Therefore my hands are tied.

LSU's problem all year has been inconsistent pitching. I mean up and down doesn't even BEGIN to describe it! Ifwe're on we should easily beat Fla State, but even then,we just don't have the depth to make a serious run in Omaha. But hey, after three weeks ago, I'm tickled pink to be where we are now :D

The OSU/TT game is a tight one and Louisville absolutely steamrolled East Carolina.

In the later games, I'm pulling for Vandy and Michigan. (Rooting for the boys in Ann Arbor is against the law here so don't rat me out.

It won't be long now...... Getting a little anxious so I broke out some "Gris Gris". :D

Couldn't leave out "The Chair"....pre Stony Brook of course.

Last but not least....2009

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!

Some good baseball today. Oklahoma State beats Texas Tech late in a tight game. Auburn had a solid win over UNC. Rocker throws a no-hitter as Vandy ties series with Duke (#2 stays alive). UCLA and Michigan are tied as they go into extra innings (#1 in danger).

Louisville punches it ticket to the CWS beating East Caroline 12-0.

My Bulldogs top Stanford.

More good baseball tomorrow.

Razorbacks on their way to college world series, have to play
the Seminoles first game. 4 SEC teams in CWS.

CWS in Omaha starts today.

Michigan and Texas Tech play at 1:00 P.M., followed by Florida State and Arkansas at 8:00 P.M. This is one bracket.

Tomorrow, Vandy and Louisville play at 1:00 P.M., followed by Auburn and my Mississippi State Bulldogs at 7:00 P.M. This is the other bracket. Hope the Vandy whistler stayed home - or at least has a seat far from the microphones!

Both brackets are double-elimation tournaments. The winners of each bracket will then play a best 2 of 3 series to determine the championship.

There has been some good baseball played throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all who made it to Omaha, as well as to the entire tournament field.
