From Here to Omaha - College Baseball tournament

The Oregon State bats really showed up last night. One of realities of championship tournaments is that some very good teams' seasons will end with a loss - all but one. UNC has a good team but the 8th inning was unkind to them in their last two games of the season. Now my Bulldogs will face Oregon State on Friday. I think it was pointed out early in the thread that Oregon State was the Vegas favorite. If my team wants to play for the championship, they will have to beat Oregon State - definitely a challenge - but is supposed to be that way.

Either Florida or Texas Tech will be eliminated after tonight's game - another good team will be going home. I have not checked the Omaha weather, but I hope it won't rain. Hoping for some good baseball.

"We're not really scared of anybody," Arkansas second baseman Carson Shaddy said.

This says it all:

I was there in Omaha with suite seats Tuesday evening and the rain postponed the game until Wednesday AM. It too was rained out. On my bucket list. Got to the stadium and village but not into the stadium to see an inning! Rats!!!!!

Hmmm...IMO CWS should have stayed at Rosenblat stadium....Now that was a real ball park...Sad it got tore down and moved to present location..Good bar across the street from Rosenblat, plus parking for tail gaters.

Probably move the stadium so the down town would get the visitors $ instead of the hod dog vendors at the old place.

Too late to tell you now, but last time I dove in Omaha a person would need good shock absorb'rs on your car or van the streets there are horrible.

I was saddened to see MSU lose. I am really looking forward to tomorrow as every corpuscle I own is pulling for Arkansas.

Go Hawgs!

Now that my Bulldogs are out, I should pull for our fellow SEC Western Division rivals, Arkansas. We did sweep them and are 3 - 0 against them this year. It would be nice to say we swept the national champs.

However, considering what Oregon State did to us, that may not bode will for Arkansas.

Before the College World Series started LSU coach Paul Manieri predicted it would be Oregon State and Arkansas in the championship round.

He predicted Arkansas to win it all as a matter of fact before the season started he told his good friend coach Dave Van Horn "This is your year you are going to win it all".

As bad as it pains this Fighting Tiger fan to say it....WOO PIG SOOIE!!!!!

I used to go to the College World Series just about every year until they closed down Rosenblatt stadium and made a parking lot out of it.
