One of the Worst RoboCalls, Vehicle warranty scam.

I think this one is the most obnoxious, plus it's long. Not only is it a scam they want to place you on hold!!!

Hi I'm calling from vehicle servicing to reach out regarding the factory warranty on your vehicle our records indicate it's past the coverage expiration is that right?? (pause)

Ok well I see the vehicle here on file is actually still eligible for vehicle warranty protection for security reasons let me get a specialist who can give you the details on the vehicle and explain your available options leasehold.

Thanks for holding all of our coverage specialists are presently busy helping other customers please stay on the line to maintain your call priority you hate surprise expenses especially costly auto repairs or the cost of replacing a pricey electrical part or air conditioner or transmission bust your monthly budget you are the next caller in queue to continue holding press 5 now or to request a callback from the next available agent press 9 now estimated callback time is less than one minute.

My dumb flip phone has none of the potential of your wonderful devices. I let mystery calls go to voice mail, get maybe only one voice mail per day. My contact list has Ign0, Ign1, Ign... for Ignore numbers, but I don't get repeat calls.

I have had PM discussions with several members and given them my cell number. I realized if I didn't answer, they would leave a message.

Rule #1: My cell phone is for my convenience.

I don't have to answer. And I lived many 55+ years without a cell phone, and for 3 years in Air Force barracks without any telephone at all.

They rarely get through my defenses. But this outcome is because I have a phone number from another state.

Several years ago I moved to another state and got a new phone number as I thought we would be staying a while. I had been using a phone that was paid for by my former employer who wanted to maintain access to me, but that deal ended.

Then we ended up moving out of that state about three years later. I have zero connections to anybody there that would need my phone number. Since most robocalls like to spoof local numbers, I just used a robocall app to block every area code in that state. That gets 90% of them.

The app picks up most of the 800/866/8whatever numbers that are in their database. Maybe one a month gets through and that I don't answer.

Every once and awhile I think back to the days when we had a black plastic phone with a rotary dial on it. When it rang, we answered it. There was no way to know who it was until you answered, and it was usually family or a friend.
Our phones are so advanced and handy now. It's like a pocket computer that can make calls, but with all the tech advances, we take the good with the bad. I have to ignore any number I don't recognize because it is probably someone trying to steal my info, money, credit, whatever they can get.
I haver been told my hospital and my job sell customer lists. That's where some of these calls come from.
I'm not sure we are really that much better off. Sorry, just a rant.

I always get to a live person. When they ask me the year and model of the car I tell them it's a 2000BC Flintstone-mobile.

Let me also add it is amazing to me the number of people who simply CANNOT avoid answering their phone when it rings.

As the above poster mentioned I too recall the days of phones with rotary dials and I also can recall letting the darn thing ring and not picking it up.

Simplest way to avoid scam calls is to not answer.

Any one who needs to actually reach you will (should) know enough to leave a msg.

People have allowed these devices to run their lives.

What really bugs me is the most frequent robo call I get tells me my Google listing needs updating and it's the same woman's voice every single time! I've blocked it at least a hundred times and every time it comes through on a different local phone number, I wish Trump could figure out a way to put them out of business.

I always press the button to get someone, then tell them I own a Maserati. Usually they hang up. Larry

They will sell you a warranty for your vehicle. If your transmission fails, they will not allow a rebuilt transmission. They allow the labor to disassemble and replace only the failed part. If you also have worn but functioning parts they are on you if you want them replaced. Not all mechanics accept their warranty, leaving you to pay then get reimbursed. If you do answer, there is no need to stay on the line at all.
