Does anyone out there have a 315 Night Guard? I haven't seen one yet, but I'm thinking this would be just the ticket for me. I love K-frame revolvers, and I think this just might be the perfect packing gun for me.

I have small hands, so I have to remove the Pachmayer grips that come on the Night Guard revolvers and replace them with something that doesn't cover the backstrap. If I don't, I can't reach the trigger to pull it double action unless I turn the gun in my hand so much that it isn't properly aligned with my forearm. With the backstrap uncovered, I don't like how hard the scandium framed guns kick with full-house .357 Magnum loads. They don't sting, they plain HURT! I see no need to have a gun that shoots magnums if I'm never going to use them in the gun. A properly selected 38 Special +P load should take care of bad guys just fine.

I'd like to hear from anyone who owns a 315 Night Guard. How do you like it?

I agree it's like having a sports car and never opening it up. I don't have a night guard but I plan on the 310 when they are availible. I think the night guards are sweet. From what I have read you will enjoy it.Post pictures if you end up with one.

I have a 315NG… it shoots great, really smooth action. I had the hammer replaced with an SDM bobbed hammer (these are the CNC hammers machined out of bar stock in the old style… bossed mainspring, pinned D/A sear like they use in the PC guns).

Immediately after getting it, the first order of business was to remove the overly large Pachmayer grips and replace them with some Pau Ferro Hogue Bantam wooden grips… it balances even better than the old S&W 66 and makes a great all-around carry gun. Really like the Big Dot tritium front with the fixed rear… makes a great combination.

Just to let you know, the front sight is a standard dot not a big dot. I think the only big dot S&W puts on a revolver is the M&P340. I have the standard dot on my J frame and I think the big dot is too big.

I have the 315 NG and fired it for the first time today ... 100 Rounds, 50 FMJ and 50 Wad Cutter.
Great gun, very comfortable to shoot and and easy at the 25ft range ,,, my eyes are not so great anymore but could still make some OK groups at 50ft .... been a long time since I've done much shooting and even longer since I shot "snubbys" so I'm happy with it.
My intentions for this one are personal defense and any envisioned shot(s) would be at less than those distances.

If any of you who are not using the stock rubber grips that came with it, are interested in selling them, I may be interested as I have a model 60-1 that would be a lot more comfortable with those grips on it.
