When I bought my 15 OR I was on a tight budget and still am. I bought some really cheap ebay iron sights..... First time out on the range the front sight broke. Now I'm looking to replace it with something accurate and dependable. Like I said I'm still on some what of a budget.... Go to answer to this question seems to be get Troy.... But is I can get a good sight at half the price I need to go that route..... I'm looking at Magpul Pro (Pro's are all metal gas block compatible). Any one have experience with them? Any other recommendations in the $70 price range?

Troy fixed front sight is in the $70 range. I have fixed front and rear and they suit me fine for my purpose. If you eventually replace the rear I would recommend the DOA aperture which is diamond shaped rather than round. Makes it much easier to line up front and rear.

I like the Magpul Pro front because it adjusts with a wheel/tool less. Eventually I defniatly want to get troy DOA rear ...... That diamond shape looks like you can get on target fast and natural

I vote you save a little longer and get the sights sold by Samson or Daniel Defense.

I no longer buy anything from Troy.

Simply Google "troy industries hires anti gun" and you will find out why.

The Magpul Pro would be my recommendation. 78Staff tried the Troys on his and went with the Pros' instead. The nice thing about the Pros', is they're metal, are adjustable without tools, and if you should accidentally smack it against something, it will safely fold down preventing it from being damaged.

Good Luck and good shooting. :D

echoing Gunny, the Troy's are good sights, but the Magpul Pros are every bit as good or better, imo. Amazon typically has the best price if your LGS doesn't carry them.

Just got the Pro front (from Amazon) $61 free delivery...... Prolly next week or so I want to replace the cheapo back too. Like I said above, The Troy DOA looks like a real good line-up sight picture. They are both (magpul and Troy) standard height. I see no reason why I can't mix brands like that. Am I correct?

You should be able to mix and match as most of the after market rear sights are universally designed to mate with A2 fronts. Since the after market fronts are designed to mimic the height of the A2 front sight, you can pick whatever poison suits you.

Good Luck and good shooting. :D
