The following summary is not prepared by the sponsors of the measure and is not a part of the body thereof subject to consideration by the Legislative Assembly. It is an editor’s brief statement of the essential features of the

Declares emergency, effective on passage.

HB3200 is even uglier when you read it in full.

Luckily only a small percentage of proposed bills actually pass, but with this kind of thinking running rampant you need to act.

Start talking. To your friends, your neighbors, your co-workers. Write your congressmen and Governor, your senators.

If everyone you talk to agrees that gun bans are great.... Move!

Elections have a consequence. When populated metro areas are able to control the vote and so called conservatives compromise with the gun grabbers, this is what happens. Our country is horribly divided and at no time since the Civil War have we been more divided. I fear that we have become lemmings and sheep and we are so used to government control, we will surrender our rights in the hope we can keep our jobs, send our kids to school, and feed our families. What happens when we take our fight to the courts and we loose because we live in a post constitutional world remains to be seen.

The response to this "legislation" (I am hesitant to call it what it really is) has been quick, and overwhelmingly against. We aren't asleep here, don't worry.

Anti-Gun Zealots Change Their Tune. - Oregon Firearms Federation

The sponsor of this piece of idiocy is already well known for his attempts to make cigarettes illegal, ban child carriers for bicycles, and a few other examples of nanny-statism in the extreme. I am ashamed and angry that any of our legislators would willingly put their name on such a blatantly unconstitutional proposal, but there are a lot of hoplophobes in PDX, and it may be an uphill fight to get them out. We are trying, though.
