UPDATE: Virginia has fallen

I fear that it's a matter of a logistical tide that's finally caught up with us.

For decades, the liberal biased "institutions of higher learning" have been the incubators of liberal/progressive ideology, and they've been cranking out liberals in far greater numbers than conservatives.

At the same, a steady decline in conservatives has been taking place with aging baby boomers steadily dying off, without a growing of the conservatives ranks to replace them.

We're seeing a fundamental shift taking place in the voting public that I'm afraid is is going to be extremely difficult (if not impossible) to stop, especially when the word "Conservative" is so vehemently hated and demonized, that people are now afraid to overtly disclose being a conservative, lest they get their car or house vandalized, or assaulted while out and about in public.

The turning of VA by Bloomberg will certainly fuel and ramp up efforts in other states, in fact Texas is the next objective, which is turning increasingly purple from ex-pat California's that have moved there.

Instead of it being a "live and let live" tolerant society, we're now a very polarized, binary "My way or the Highway" society with no moderation from a common middle ground where both sides found a way to co-existence.

As a native born California that experienced a once friendly gun state turn into what it is today, the news of Virginia came as a total shock... it's a mirror of the beginning of the end that happened here in CA.

We have a Democrat super majority here that looks like it will persevere longer than I will.

I could not agree more with what you say. As an example, no more 21 gun salutes on Veterans Day at the University of Snowflake in Virginia, they don't want to upset the students with the sound of gunfire. Our best days are behind us, the generation that favors socialism by a 70% margin and thinks the world is ending in 10 years from climate change is in charge now.

Okay.......
the alert has been given, as if anyone had missed the news that VA went blue.
We don't do general political discussion.

Once again, I'll remind you all to READ this- Sticky: READ this > RULES on HOW to use the 2A Forum
which says:
This forum is about ACTION that can and should be taken to protect or advance the cause of freedom.

Northam proposed measures calling for universal background checks, a ban on assault weapons to include suppressors and bump stocks, a ban on high-capacity magazines, and to restore a state law, repealed in 2012, to restrict handgun purchases to one a month.

Northam also proposed legislation that would set tougher penalties for leaving a loaded gun near a child, that would allow for extreme risk protective orders to remove guns from people deemed a risk to themselves or others, and that would require people to report stolen or lost guns within 24 hours.

Northam is also pushing for legislation to allow localities to regulate firearms within their jurisdictions including banning them in government buildings.

So, get back to us when there are specific bills to take action on.
