This time of year I like to get "cabin fever." Crank the A/C and make the house dark as possible. Doc calls me and has a friend with a 5-alarm "need a Sig 365." We got there about 10 and the crowd was light, noticeably fewer 01 FFL's in attendance compared to last show. Prices were down slightly, the $699 Model 649 was $649 this go around, the $829 Model 648 was $769. New J-frame alloy guns were $450-$700, you had to shop around. There was a 640-Pro that was a shade under $1K. Colt's Python were $2300, same as last time, not moving at all. AR's were everywhere, $500 and up, didn't see a soul toting a purchase. Sig 226, 228, 229 are crazy money these days, "Legion" were $1500. I'd like to replace the 226 I gave my son but that's triple what I paid 25 years ago. Yeah I know: "Let go of the past, life moves on........" Phooey. My wages ain't 3X what I was making 25 years ago.
Like I said we were in search of a 365. Guy wanted all black TacPak which is basically unobtanium since discontinued. All of them were FDE lower/black upper. I found a 365 with 2-10 rd mags for $549 OTD. 2 boxes 9mm ball were another $50 and an extra 12 rd mag was $50 more. Basically a TacPak with 100 rds ammo for a little less than the $699 prices most had set for them.
No chili, again, for the chili-cheese-fries but the amigo treated me and the doc to a steak lunch down in Dr Phillips for helping him out. Nice being in the A/C instead of under the tarp at picnic tables, 95*/99% humidity. Beats a matinee (or yard work) any day. Joe
