I'd heard about the sign in front of the county jail, but had never saw it. Rode out a while back and took a couple pics of it.

There are jails around here that really need to have the "No" part illuminated. Highly overcrowded and more miscreants added daily.I'd really start to worry when the "NO" portion of the sign is illuminated!
Funny....depending on who paid for it.

From the linked web site...
"The neon sign cost $819 and was paid for with drug forfeiture money, according to the Sheriff's Office."

While I was Chief of Police, I had a copy of some maps made of our town prior to the reservoir. Had them framed and hung in my office. The most frequent question was who paid for them. I should have had my receipt framed and displayed with them!
Overcrowded jails are a good thing - highly overcrowded jails is great. More miserable, the better.
I'm ok with that. Hell, they should have used some of it to buy cigars too. Maybe a cool car for the arresting officer(s). Better to use it than put it in a box in the lockup.
Some of the officers have very nice patrol cars.
