Outdoorsman Questions

Thank you Jeff for the photos and information. I asked about the barrel
because one of the two RM barreled Outdoorsman I have has a serial number just five off from yours.
I know of nine examples that have the RM barrels and would love to hear from anyone that has one.

Jerry

Sorry for the very old photo.

Sorry for the very old photo.

Perhaps the few that were made were all close in serial number although most everything somewhat unique that S&W did usually spread SNs across a broad range. The only other one I've found in an earlier thread was 69800 and this is 69805.

In reference to the length difference, I have measured near a dozen and a half sets and the largest difference observed was .042. The majority were between.032 and .038. Would love to have a transition Outdoorsman someday. Very cool guns in this thread.

When I measured the difference between the 2 on my HDs, the difference was .040".

Also, is your shop still closed to new orders? I'm interested in some of your Ropers.

Hugh, still open, but semi retired or part time employed ! After wife retirement this past March. In Michigan at the moment after a week in LA, I much prefer Michigan! Happy to have your order but no firm time line for completion due to my new life!
