I did some searching and found mixed results. I recently came across a Pinned and Recessed 4" S&W 629. I already have a 6" P&R 629 and want to finish the collection over time, fig. a 4" and a 8 3/4". So....what would be a fair price for a P&R 629 4" model be? I think I paid $400 for my 6" but I know I got a steal on it. Also this 4" has rubber grips which I do know are not factory, but I have several sets of the factory wood grips. Thanks all!!!! I apreciate it greatly!

I paid $675 in 2009 for this 4" P&R 629:

They only made the 4" (and 8-3/4") 629 P&R guns in 1981, so they are scarce, and are becoming quite a collector's item. The shop which sold me this gun had no idea it was rare - and neither did I. I just wanted a good .44.

If the seller knows what they have, you might be looking at $900-$1,200. If I saw one for $800 or less, I'd snag it.

I paid 800.00 for one 99% in the presentation case with tools and papers, no regrets.

Thanks guys. I missed out! I posted this and then realized I knew it was to good to pass up and called the shop right away....only to found out it sold 2 days ago!!!

.....Im going to kick myself for this one....$599...no case or tools etc, but I am sick now...I want to finish this collection sometime in my lifetime! Weird thing is, I missed one about 6 months ago also for $599...both times they had rubber grips and I am sure the sellers didnt know what they had. Oh well...Ill keep looking! Thanks agian all, I knew it was a good deal and I didnt hesitate, but I guess I shoulda found it 2 days ago!
