P320 X5 Legion vs Sig P226 SAO Legion Accuracy

Guys

Does anybody own both of these pistols? How does the X5 Legion stack up against the P226 SAO? My X5 Legion even with a Grayguns Competition Trigger is still not as crisp as the P226. My X5 Legion is 2.6lb trigger pull but has a lot of creep. The P226 is a 4lb trigger pull but breaks like glass and the reset is much shorter than the X5.

That said, is the P226 more accurate at 50ft standing freehand not bench rested?

That's interesting to hear your perspective. I sold my SAO 226 because the trigger bothered me. It felt like there was a long take up, where the DA used to be, leading up to a so-so break. I assumed the X-5 would be better but maybe not!

The P226 SAO Legion has the best factory trigger for a non 1911 or revolver I've seen besides the CZ Tactical Sport.

Yes I agree the Legion does have a very good trigger. But I keep hearing reports that the CZ Shadow2 shoots flatter than the SAO Legion and is more accurate.

I'm surprised to read that your Grayguns trigger has so much creep. I have a bone-stock, plain-Jane P320 Nitron compact (10,000 rounds) with the factory trigger upgrade. It has very little takeup (1/4" at most), breaks, as they say, like glass, has a short reset, and is extremely smooth. (In other words, it's not like an M&P!) The only downside for a competition shooter would be its 5.5 to 6 lb pull, but there must be a way around that. My P320 has the second-best trigger of any semi-auto I've ever shot, surpassed only by the wonderful trigger in my 45 year old Ruger Standard.

I also have a new bone-stock, plain-Jane P229, which I am still breaking in, but it has the same trigger characteristics as you describe for a P226. I can't comment on its accuracy vs. my P320, because I'm still learning to shoot it. I can tell you that despite my P320's superb trigger, my Shield 45 (3.3" barrel) is more accurate (freehand) at 20 yards, so I would expect that a P226 would be so as well .

The Sig P320 pistols if you take random 10 full size P320's, some will be very crisp and others may not be as crisp. Some may be lighter pull, others may be heavier. If you look at the trigger bar and where the trigger return spring hooks into, if Sig did not drill that hole exactly center, it can cause a heavier trigger if it is further away.

I have 7 Sig P320's in different sizes but the standard frame P320 with Grayguns PELT2, all are lighter than stock trigger pull, both my standard P320 full size in both .357sig and 9mm are much crisper than my X5 Legions as I own 2 x5 legions and both have the same amount of creep. I am getting better at compensating for the creep but the Legion sadly is not on par with a CZ accu Shadow in the accuracy department

the Grayguns PELT2 trigger by the way is very good and much better than stock
