Is anyone else having this problem? This happens with every brand and its always the same belt loop. The only thing i can guess is its caused by my stiff belt. never had this problem before I started to carry, so its been going on for some time. its not the stitching coming loose but the fabric gets torn.
I carry at 3:30 or so IWB. They don't make denim like they used too.

Unfortunately, I can’t figure out what your problem is, so I can’t help you.

You’ll get better answers if you state your problem. Making us guess does you no good.

Looks like you added a photo after l posted my reply.

I know the exact problem you are addressing. I'm not sure what brand of pants you've got, but I've had this happen with a couple pair of cheap Walmart jeans I got for yard work. The denim material is much lighter weight than the material in my Wranglers and there are fewer belt loops to help distribute stress on the cheap jeans loops. Haven't bought jeans in a while, so maybe they're all made of less durable material.

They aren't jeans, but Carhartt washed duck work pants are still rugged, even the pockets. You can often find them on sale at places like Bass Pro or Cabellas.

I had 4 pairs of LEVI's 550's that all did that and they all had only 5 or 6 belt loops and they all were labelled as having been made in Egypt. The last 6 pairs have the standard 7 belt loops and I have not had the same issue. I cannot find the same tags indicating where the last ones were manufactured. I also carry at IWB at about 3:30.

It looks like wrangler has 7 belt loops compared to 5 on other jeans. I will be giving them a try. The jeans pictured are Lee and Levi with5 belt loops.
Love this forum, I can find answers to just about anything.
Off to buy some wrangler's.

With years of wearing a gun belt with keepers, I have found that using keepers with my OWB holsters assist with this situation.

I try at all costs to avoid wearing pants, so I don’t have this problem.

Kilt? (jk)

I stopped buying Levis years ago. Their quality as well as their politics really went south. MARS GEAR is made in the USA by and for shooters. I have 2 pair of duty pants and a denim. Wear great and have a lot of carry-friendly features. Good prices, too.

tough to tell without the holster and belt pictured? Any pants i use for iwb has a extra belt loop sewn on to keep the holster positioned where it is wanted.

My competition paddle holsters go over the belt and jeans and solve two problems: they spread the load and keep the holster from moving no matter how forcefully you draw.
I have a shoebox full of holsters that hang at one point on the belt, but I stopped using them.

Belt loops can be moved if the locations interfere with holster placement. Simple alteration that takes only a few minutes. Belt loops that are improperly sized for the gun belt can be changed out also.

Years ago as a cop working in plain clothes I always had my trousers set up that way. The material taken off when inseam length is fitted will make all the belt loops needed, positioned as you wish and sized for your belt.

Suit coats and sport coats received an insert of light canvas around the torso to protect the linings from sharp edges (hammer, rear sight) and keep from snagging.

Another advantage for me was the clothing costs and alterations for work use made everything a tax-deductible expense.

Think ahead and deal with it before it becomes a problem.

I have never had any belt loop ever come loose - from carrying a gun or not. LL Bean Double L Jeans are the only brand I've worn in 45 years. They are very comfortable, wear like iron, have huge front pockets for pocket carry and have very strong belt loops.

I suspect your belt might be too wide. The belts I use are Kramer Leather double thick Horsehide and they are 1 1/4" wide. More than enough for the guns I CCW.

Now that I live in a very warm climate, I wear cargo shorts a lot. Their belt loops are not nearly as strong as on my LL Bean jeans and I have had zero issues with them either.

Just out of curiosity, what gun and holster are you using?
