Long story short, I just got a brand new set of Hogue monogrips of the old high shoulder design, originally cut for a cut frame K/L frame.
The owner, Patrick Hogue made these for me out of a previously cut blank he had in his "box" from the mid 1990's. I had no idea they had made monogrips for cut frame guns. In addition to the inletting for a cut frame, the grips had the old style high shoulder or hump on the right panel which I wanted.
With the smaller diameter of the bottom of the grip due to the cut frame, they are the most comfortable grip I have ever held. I had rubber monogrips for years on duty and PPC guns, but never wood.
I now have a vintage pair of Guy Hogue two piece cut frame grips as well as a sort of vintage pair of Patrick Hogue monogrips. The cut is shallow enough that it does not go into the serial number.
I like em'.
