Visited a little hole-in-the-wall pawn shop today and walked out with 2 decent new toys. Mod 19-3 6" Blue with Target Trigger and Hammer and what I think is the Original Grips. Real nice with a little holster wear to blue but no pitting or rust. Mod 36 No Dash Nickel with obviously aftermarket grips. Has a little wear and tear but I think most will polish out nicely. Not the steal of a lifetime but I think I did ok at $800 OTD. Will post more pictures after they get a good cleaning and polish.

$800 for both isn't a steal but it sure is far from a bad deal. Around here the pawn shop would have wanted $800 each. Yeah it is a high priced pawn shop but they seem to sell them. For how much they actually sell for I have no idea. I agree with the above in that you basically got the 36 free if not really cheap.

As others have said, you did fine on the price.

I agree with you. Those target stocks probably came on that Combat Magnum. At the very least, they are period correct. Since S&W did not serialize them, you will never know for sure, but there is no reason to doubt it.

Good Job!!! I have NEVER found any good deals at a pawn shop. 19, is nice! I think that the 36 stocks are J Scott. Enjoy your new Smiths! Bob

It pays to get to know the owner, I've gotten great deals on last 4 pistols at one of my pawn shops I frequent, in fact he calls me when he gets something I might be interested in.

03Hemi did just fine I think.

Photo of my 19-3 nickel and it came with the stocks you see in 1976. The stocks are not numbered on either panel.

I have this one listed at $800 for my insurance rider and I really don't believe it is that far off, so I too think the OP got a twofer.
