Found a 686P 7 round LNIB with box and all the goodies for $499.95 at the local pawn shop. It is tight and in real good condition. It is a stainless 4" ......... is this a good price? It isn't that old and the barrel is pristine and it does have the IL so it is a fairly new one. I have it on hold and if you guys think the price is good I will put a deposit on it tomorrow.
Thanks,

Get it before someone else does. Would be a great price around here.

I kinda figured you guys would get me another S&W in the ol' safe. I am just going to tell my wife since my B-day is coming up that I "NEEDED" another 686 and at that price and condition, I just have to have it. And when I tell her it looked lonesome at the Pawnshop and wants to live in our safe, that will ice the cake!!!

if it was here in Houston, I would buy it with no hesitation - a used one with no box or papers goes for that here(when you find one)!!!

ANY good used 686 for less than $600.00 would be a good price in my part of the world.

Heading out this morning to get the paperwork started!!

Thanks to everyone for your replies. I sure appreciate the information when I am about to get a new to me, S&W. I have the 6" 686P and this 4" will sure be a great addition to my little collection. Again thank you everyone for helping me out. Will keep you posted when I pick it up next month. Thanks for helping me spend my $$$$ in the right way!

BTW, I paid 480 OTD for my 686, it looks mint. Some elderly lady had it for years, or so I was told..... Was originally made in 1985. The wood excellent also. Sent it off to S&W for the 686 recall yesterday. BTW, minesonly a 6 shot.....guess you coulda figured that out...LOL

BTW, GO BUY IT!!!! Its a steal

Just got back from making Down Payment to Secure the Gun!!!

Well everyone I just got back from the Pawnshop and put down my deposit. In a couple weeks she's mine!!! Looked it over again really carefully and it has not been fired very much at all. In fact there is no black where the cylinder meets the forcing cone at all. And turn line is very faint, almost can't even see it. Things are really tight and lockup real solid. So thanks again, your imput to jump on it turned out really good for me. It is in excellent shape.
