For those that like to Hunt pawn shops , what firearm would be at the top of your list to find?
I keep hoping to find a model 65, 3". or a Marlin 1894 in .357. Or a Timberwolf.

I just recently got into this.
So far got a NIB model 67 for $500, a very clean 686-1 for $500 and a 19-4 , 6" nickel in good shape for $700

I'm surprised any super deals can still be found at pawns in the internet age. All of the pawn shop people I know check the value of all of their stuff online.

Added: And know how to use the auction sites.

I just picked up a really nice condition Beretta Mod 950BS with original box & papers at local pawn store for $270. My holy grail is Bonds model 418.

I've bought a couple good ones at pawn shops but I do much better at small rural gun shows. I've got a .357 Timberwolf, a mod 65 3" and a couple of 1894 .357 Marlins all from gun shows (full disclosure is most were bought 10 years ago or longer).

I have found K22s, mdl 19, 28-2s, a no dash 696($700), a pre model Highway Patrolmen ($550), a 455 Triple lock ($725) as well as some other descent buys

So far no K32 or like the one guy who had a thread here who snagged a registered magnum for low bucks. But, I keep looking. Maybe I will get lucky someday.

Oink—I would agree with you but for seeing this thread here in the past few month months. This is the all-time pawn find, and although it is wise to never say never, this will likely never be surpassed.

In any/every store that sells used stuff (of any kind) There is at least one bargain! The two keys are: 1)Knowing enough to recognize the bargain when you see it, and 2) wanting and affording the bargain when you see it.

Outside of that it is all easy!

75% of the hundreds of guns I have bought in my lifetime were used! Of the New guns I bought, about 100% were Used Guns just a few minutes after I bought them! I could have saved some money, If I waited a month or two!

Too late I learned: Youth is wasted on the young!

Bought a K-98 in a pawn shop for 20 rolls of quarters. Took it home. Wiped the dust, goo off metal. Finish was excellent. All matching numbers down to capture screws, etc. Had intended to use it for hunting deer in bad weather. Used it a time or two but not in bad weather. Shot 2 MOA even w/ Remington factory ammo. Pretty thing. It paid for a semester of college for one of my daughters. Considered it a good deal all the way around. Sincerely. bruce.

I visit my pal's shop about once a week. I'm never looking "for" anything, but I've carried out a few jewels (a 647 and 460 ES, both almost like ANIB) for a little song and dance.

Folks who need that cash "right now" don't have time for the Internet, and in the case of my pal -- and many others -- they pay pennies for stuff and don't gouge the next guy.

Pawn shops are some of my favorite sellers on the auction sites. They don't always "know" what they have, especially when it comes to pre-model numbered S&Ws.

A pre 18, K22 Combat Masterpiece, for a decent price was the best deal I have found at a Local Pawn shop. Good enough to keep me coming back to check out what may be on the shelf.
