Pawn Shop Rescue -Got the letter!

"They're Still Out There!"

Thanks for all the comments. I really was very lucky to find this one. Its a definite keeper!

Most of the time I peruse the threads salivating over what others have found, always thinking how I wish I could find something that nice. Well, I'm living proof, perseverance pays off. And I've learned never pass up a pawn shop, no matter how small it is or how hard it is to get to. You never know what lies within...........

Oh, and for those inquiring minds who wanna know...........$375 OTD

I know, I couldn't believe it either. It was priced at $450 and I was about to offer $400 and I asked him if there was any wiggle room. He stepped away, looked it up on the computer and then quoted me the price. I calmly said, "I'll Take It" Whoa, that was close. Another lesson learned, don't just blurt out an offer. Don't know what he had in it, but I'm sure he made out OK. Turns out he likes Colts. Lucky for me!

If anyone can come up with a closer shipping date, I'd be interested. If I call Smith customer service, will they provide a shipping date? I would also be curious how scarce this configuration is. I really wonder how many were produced as opposed to the SB version.

Well, finally got the letter on this one and am quite pleased! :D

I checked online and there is still a Firestone Store in Attalla. Does anyone here live there, or near there, that could do a little follow up?

The only thing I noticed is the discrepancy in the grip description. I have to check with Roy to see if its a typo or if the records really reflect a square butt.

I really like the history some of these letters provide. Thanks Roy!! ;)

Wow, special find indeed. How long did it take you to get the letter after you sent in your request?

Sent request on 3 guns on April 20th. Got them about a week ago. Not bad considering all the requests that are received.
