This is a very interesting macro-economic indicator. Either Smith and Wesson cranked up the pricing to create arbitrage opportunities from the 08 Obama-gasm fear induced buying spree, or this reflects deflationary forces which the Federal Reserve bank will say is bad (yet paying less is never bad for the individual).
I am interested in this and will watch it carefully. I wonder if wholesale prices to dealers will be impacted by this, I am guessing yes.
My local dealer just told me yesterday that they had received new pricing from S&W. They have reduced most all J frames and bodyguards by $50.00. New pricing on M&P's will be out in January. Supposedly everything will be reduced. With that and them producing more lock free guns I might be able to consider buying new again.
Unless they are lock free and don't look ugly, they won't be new or improved. Regards 18DAI.
