Here's a Peruvian Model 1909 that was manufactured prior to WWI by Mauser in Oberndorf Germany. Very similar to the German Gew.98 rifle and has the Lange Visier ("Roller Coaster") long-range rear sight. Chambered for the 7.65x53mm cartridge, it has a 29.13" barrel. This rifle is beautifully made (pre-WWI build quality was absolutely superb) and is nicely marked with the Peruvian crest on the receiver, under which is marked "MAUSER ORIGINAL". The right side of the butt is also marked with the famous Mauser banner. This rifle is completely original with almost all matching. It is NOT import marked. The stock is in very good shape with handling wear, dents, dings and a few scratches...but no cracks or chips...and never sanded or refinished. The mechanics are in good working order and the bore is mirror bright with sharp rifling. A nice example of a very hard to find contract Mauser rifle.
