You may want to consider a CZ-75, which comes in 9mm. Very nice shooter.

Researching th Cz-75 wow, looks like a nice gun. Nutnfancy did a review of the red dawn commemorative one.

You have the target/plinking pistol covered and a modern semi-automatic on order. If it were me I would ad some variant of the M1911 just because it is the quintessential combat pistol. Then I would go completely opposite end of the spectrum and get a .45lc SAA revolver most likely a Colt 1873 Peacemaker clone. The Peacemaker is a famous piece of Americana known as "The gun that won the west."

It's funny you mention "The gun that won the west" I was already considering it.

If you like 1911s, and want to stick with 9mm, how about the Springfield EMP? For your "someday" carry gun?

I have 2 pistols right now both are poly. My next will be a CZ all steel which I highly recommend. And after that, once my kiddos are a little older I will get an ATI 1911 in 22lr so I can teach then hire to shoot. Just depends on what you will us them for.
