It has been a long 10 days and I get to pick up my 686P 6" from my FFL tomorrow after the 10 day CA waiting period. And can't wait to try her out. I was going out Saturday to the backcountry here in San Diego, but now I hear we got a storm coming in with 80% chance of rain. So a little bit more waiting, but at least it is in my hands. I guess I will have a chance to clean it real good before I go out anyway. I will give a range report when it happens. And this will give me a chance to make a spot in the safe for it.

A fine choice indeed! I've got a 6" 686+ that I absolutely adore...I even lucked into a 4" to keep it company:D Of course, we need pics of your new baby when you get it home :)

Congrats on the 686!! I have the same revolver and it's a blast, literally. I like the versatility of being able to shoot .38spl.,.38spl+ and .357mag. Good way to help with flinch control.... toss a few .357mag rounds in with the .38spl.

As of 11:30 PM Pacific Standard Time, it is now down to a 60% chance. By Friday, it will be a 30% chance with only a slight chance in the San Diego County desert where I reside in the winter months. So, good chance you will still be able to pop a few caps this weekend.

Ironically, I fondled a consigned 6 inch 686 just today at So Cal Guns in San Diego. Want it, but can't justify it when I have an 8 inch 686 that I use regularly. It is in Southwestern Colorado with the majority of my collection, so I will have to wait to shoot it, where you will be able to do so soon.

Congrats on your purchase; a quality, reliable, accurate, great handling handgun....to say the least.

I think everyone has a 686 here. I have a 586 and now I think I need a 686 too. Good luck with your new S&W !

My 686 + - love it. you'll really enjoy that weapon.
