Picked up a 9VE today

Join the club sigh. ;)

I'd love to shoot more but I'm on a budget. :(

You and me both. Wouldn't be so bad had I not needed to buy a car back in March. But, thats life. What're ya gonna do, ya know?

Memorial Day is coming up soon though and that's a time where I get to splurge a little on ammo though

Took a couple shots of the holster a little bit ago. Now comes the task of finding where it sits on me the best while walking, sitting, standing, etc.

I've gotta say, for picking up this holster for only $25, it fits the gun like a glove. It's got some nice material to it, but I wouldn't have minded if it were a touch thicker. It just feels a bit flimsy. The belt clip is nice and strong and the snap that holds the gun in is nice and tight as well. The retention strap is adjustable so it has a nice size piece of hook and loop material on it. All of the stitching is nice and firm, providing a sense of security in the fact that it doesn't appear that any of the stitching will come loose anytime soon.

Anyways, that's my little review of the holster. On to some pics...

The Sigma seems to be catching on...but when will a trigger upgrade be available?

Congratulations on your purchase as its a good one. I have shot mine 2250 times and have had not one problem, not one. As far as the long hard trigger, i love it. Yes the trigger is hard and long but it took me the first 100 rounds and then became a thing of the past. I went with a FOBUS paddle HK1 holster, love that holster sometimes i forget its on my hip, and i like the look of it. The cost for the holster was 23.99 with H&S 30 bucks.

I had been toying around with the idea of removing the two springs from the trigger assembly and decided today I would do it. Even though the initial trigger pull didn't bother me, sometimes I can't leave things be :p.

Anyways, I popped the pin out at the back of the frame, took out what I needed to, and put everything back together. Trigger wont set. Scratched my head for a second and then realized I made a simple mistake after getting distracted by something in the other room. I had put the trigger assembly back together backwards :o. No problem..took everything back apart and switched it around and re-assembled.

After getting it all together and dry firing a couple times, I'm quite pleased with the trigger pull in it's current state. In my mind, the gun was great as it was, and now it's a bit better. If I needed to, I could put the springs back in and it wouldn't bother me one bit. Can't wait to shoot her again come this weekend!

I certainly like my 9VE...plus it is cheaper to shoot then a 40, so I've heard. I am still having issues hitting the center of the target, however my grouping is good, just not where I am aiming. I am still getting use to the trigger pull I guess. I have been a long gun guy and recently got into handguns. So, I am a newbie when it comes to a handgun, minus a 22LR I had years back. I just enjoy going to the range...enough said.

Just thought I'd throw this in here for anyone still looking through...

I had purchased 300 rounds (total) of Remington UMC, Federal Champion, and WWB. Was able to burn through about 215-220 rounds and, through all that were fired, still no issues firing or feeding. As far as the springs being removed from the trigger assembly, not a single issue there either.

As a side note...everyone, who took a look at the Sigma, was quite pleased with it. Several people, upon finishing off a mag, said they would have to take a serious look into getting one. The only people who showed no interest or rolled their eyes were Glock owners. But hey, to each their own.

Pay no mind to them. While they go mainstream with their Glocks (monkey see monkey do) we are unique individuals. :p

Really nothin goin on with the Sigma right now; haven't had a chance to get out and shoot her again. Just a little bit ago I ordered a Pachmayr grip sleeve for it. Hopefully it will be here Saturday morning so I can throw it on before I head to the range for a little bit. I've got about 100 rounds I want to put through her and Saturdays off are at a premium right now so 10 rounds or 100, I'm jumping at the opportunity!

Since I got the Sig 40sw I haven't shot my Sigma 9 lately. It's back in the box and stashed away. Since it's not really worth selling I'm glad to keep it. :)

Having sold guns in a LGS for a year now, most of my co workers feel the Sigma is an OK gun for those who only have $300 to spend on a 9mm gun. Those who have $500 to spend usually buy a Glock, but to those who only have $300, they buy a Sigma. We don't push it, but if that's what the customer asks for, that's what we show them. No employee in our store has ever purchased one. Several do own M&P9c's though. The rest own Glocks. Me, I carry a HK USP. GARY N4KVE

Like Halfstack said "monkey see monkey do". No since in 1 guy in the shop getting beat up by the glock "nut swingers" for buying a sigma.

I bought one and I cannot beleive how much better I am now. I hit the center target 85-90% of the time..I am amazed how much it helped.

Well I got the grip sleeve on and it makes it feel like a whole new firearm. Still fits pretty damn well in the hands, if not better. Unfortunately, my weekend got a little screwed up so no shooting. On the upside, I get to go Sunday and I'll have a chance to pick up a little more ammo to throw at some paper. Makes it look a little better too. I'm happy :)

That looked good. Looks comfy too. :)

Like I said, VERY comfortable. I would definitely recommend to anyone who needed/wanted to change the feel of the gun to better fit their hands. I already thought it fit pretty well but felt there could be a bit of room for improvement and the sleeve did just that.

As far as anything else goes with the pistol...the next time I head back "home," as Pittsburgh is anything but, I'll be grabbing the Mother's Mag polish to take the gritty-ness out of the trigger pull. Nothing that really needs to be done, but it's simple enough and I like to tinker with things. After that, the hardest task...finding the time to shoot!

i just got the sigma 40ve a couple weeks ago. i have only put 100 rounds thru and i love the trigger pull. I have dry fired it to help loosen things up a bit. I will be back to the range a bunch with this gun and when i get my ccw it will by my edc.

Gonna bring this back to life a bit. Haven't been able to shoot much at all lately due to moving and working. I finally made it out the other day and put a little over 100 rounds through the Sigma. Those rounds consisted of some WWB, some CCI Blazer steel cased FMJ's, as well as some Winchester PDX1 147 grain JHP's.

Still, I have not had any FTF's or FTE's. Additionally, every round has fired without incident, although I did notice that one of the Blazers had a crack in the case when i picked up all the empties. That being said, I won't be running them through the Sigma anymore. None of the brass casings from the Winchesters had any unusual marks or ruptures so I don't believe I have any reason to be alarmed.

As far as the JHP's, I still need to fire more to get a better understanding on how they fire, whether I'll have any issues shooting them, etc. With that in mind, nothing went wrong with the ones I did fire so I'm quite optimistic that everything will be ok in the future.

This was also the first time I had been able to shoot with the Pachmayr grip sleeve and it made a noticeable difference. I felt like I had better control of the gun from the way it filled the voids in my hand where the frame just wasn't enough.

All in all, it was a great day to get out and throw some rounds down range and I continue to be impressed with what most describe to be an "inadequate, piece of junk." They must no have ever taken the time to fire 5 rounds from one, let alone 500 :p
