Gonna bring this back to life a bit. Haven't been able to shoot much at all lately due to moving and working. I finally made it out the other day and put a little over 100 rounds through the Sigma. Those rounds consisted of some WWB, some CCI Blazer steel cased FMJ's, as well as some Winchester PDX1 147 grain JHP's.
Still, I have not had any FTF's or FTE's. Additionally, every round has fired without incident, although I did notice that one of the Blazers had a crack in the case when i picked up all the empties. That being said, I won't be running them through the Sigma anymore. None of the brass casings from the Winchesters had any unusual marks or ruptures so I don't believe I have any reason to be alarmed.
As far as the JHP's, I still need to fire more to get a better understanding on how they fire, whether I'll have any issues shooting them, etc. With that in mind, nothing went wrong with the ones I did fire so I'm quite optimistic that everything will be ok in the future.
This was also the first time I had been able to shoot with the Pachmayr grip sleeve and it made a noticeable difference. I felt like I had better control of the gun from the way it filled the voids in my hand where the frame just wasn't enough.
All in all, it was a great day to get out and throw some rounds down range and I continue to be impressed with what most describe to be an "inadequate, piece of junk." They must no have ever taken the time to fire 5 rounds from one, let alone 500
