The 48-4, is that a M-53 bbl? I've never seen a shrouded bbl on any 22 but a 53. Did you mention that before in another thread? I now I'd love to have one on my 17 if it was possible.

If you look at the picture you will see the barrel stamping, " 22 Long Rifle Ctg"! That is a mod 17 barrel! A model 53 Jet barrel is stamped "22 Magnum" and a mod 48 barrel is stamped "22 MRF"!

Your haul is very, very, nice. Reminds me of my youth, when I first got this affliction/addiction to P&R etc.. Enjoy it for as long as you cqn. Congrats on the new additions.

It is a 53 barrel.
I wonder if the cylinder is a 53 extra cylinder, or if they took the shoulder back on the barrel?

I don't see "22 Long Rifle Ctg" looks more like "22 Magnum". I magnified the pic but couldn't get it any clearer.

When to shoot them?

TBH, that 28 I won by accident thinking I was bidding on a 25…. It was on my watch list and I got them mixed up somehow.
Price was ok. I was expecting meh…. but it turned out to be a really nice re-finish.
