Why?

When Colt is producing there's again??
Why make a copy of a Single Action Army? Colt is producing them.

Maybe because it's about half the price?

If they made a duplicate copy - a clone - of an older Python (from my reading, Colt has made a few changes in the way they make the gun, so the new one is not the same as a 1960 or a 1970 or a 1980 Python) and sold it for $900 or $1,000 --- I think people would probably jump on it.

Winchester is making the 1873 again. Uberti is still selling their copy. Colt makes the Single Action Army. Uberti and Pietta both sell the heck out of theirs.

Just announced they are going to build an exact copy of the "older" 6 in. Python.....Son just sent me phone pics.....Looks just like an original in blue.
Why, CZColt is producing it 33% stronger with new metalurgies with closer tolerances because of CNC's than the original?
I guess it'll just be unique at a cheaper price?

From what I understand that Pietta will be using a number of cast parts to keep costs down.

To me...the primary benefit of Pietta doing this will be there should be a new supply of internal parts of older Colt revolvers...even if the parts aren't as good as the originals they will at least be available.

I found this on YouTube, but other than my buddy Marcello, few will probably understand it.🤷‍♂️ It looks like they got the sides of the hammer correct.
