A couple of comments in UncleEd’s thread about pineapple on pizza got me to thinking, and I didn’t want to hijack his thread. I happen to like ham and pineapple pizza a lot and generally order that style more than anything else. I don’t have any Italian in me, so that’s my excuse:)

I remember the first time I ever tried it was at a port call in Bunbury, Australia. The first night we pulled in and everyone was heading to Perth for liberty, and I had the duty. We found a little pizza joint called Drooleys that would deliver to our quarterdeck. They had an option called Hawaiian pizza and being stationed at Pearl Harbor, we had never heard of it. Ordered a couple of those with a bunch of others for the duty section on the ship. It was a big hit, with all of the slices disappearing in just a few minutes. I snagged one and immediately liked it. Tried it a couple more times before we departed and was sold on it. We all liked Drooleys enough that their logo made it into the cruise book for the Westpac of ‘82.

Logan and I enjoy Hawaiian pizza. Even more pedestrian is that I order it from a pizza chain.

There was a pizza place I used to frequent in Oakley called Germantown Pizza. They were known for their sauerkraut pizza. I miss it.

Don't mind it a bit once in a while. Even recall a shrimp (blasphemy!) and pineapple pie on occasion. There aren't too many things at which I turn my nose up.

First job out of high school was a pizza place. They had a seafood pizza: shrimp, anchovies, oysters and clams. Never had one myself, but there was a couple that used to come in regular and that was their usual.

Ham & pineapple is great on pizza but I had it once with regular pizza sauce and it was gawd awful, but with white sauce it’s great. If you’ve ever been single, like first apartment single, get the frozen garlic bread, chipped ham, and a can of crushed pineapple. Amazing food you can come up with when you got the munchies. Don’t EVER try that with hotdog. Never! No matter how elevated you are and how good it may sound at the time, don’t EVER put wiener on garlic bread for any reason whatsoever! Those little breakfast sausages, okay; but leave the pineapple off.

Get the Garbage Special (everything) with smoked oysters, shrimp, and pineapple added. Just what the Dr. ordered after a night of drinking. When I was young.

Pineapple and ham is a go.

It's not one of my regular choices, but every time I've had it I've enjoyed it.

Anything sweet does not go with meat for me. What is even worse is when I order a spicy chicken and rice Thai dish and bite into a chunk of pineapple. GROSS!

I once had a frozen pizza with BBQ chicken. What could go wrong? I love BBQ chicken as well as pizza. That pizza raced through me faster than a sixpack of cheap beer. It wasn't pretty.

I don't question the tastebuds of some of you but I wonder if your digestive system is similar to that of a raccoon.

When I make pizza, it's usually either ham and pineapple or sausage and mushroom. I don't always have bacon on hand, but it's a nice addition to either one. Mrs Chad approves of both!

Now here's one that boggles my mind. Ranch on pizza. Tomato bacon ranch, or chicken bacon ranch, I'm sure there are others. Everything logical in my brain screams NO! NO! NO! Ranch on something warm?

But I must admit I loved it!
