Plinker Tactical Charging Handle, anyone getting it?

Cool product. No extra wear issues running an aluminum handle in the polymer upper?

No problems at all. The handles are smooth and anodized so there is no wear. If they were sand blasted or had a cheaper surface finish, then there might be a problem after about 10,000 chargings.

GunSource originally had them listed for $46, then dropped it to $39 and then removed the price altogether and now says it's not available.

Maybe TactiCool22 got an exclusive distribution contract.

Did they change the design? Yours looks totally different?

To be honest, i think its VERY worth the original asking price just due to the latch and the more solid feel. I have had a few FTF of some junk Winchester ammo and slide the hand down the upper receiver, not even aiming at the handle, hits the handle and off we go to the next round, thats priceless.

.

I really like mine and have put almost 500 rounds through my 15-22 since I got it.

I only have one little issue. After a particularly long day at the range doing some magazine exchange drills, I noticed that the pads of my right index finger were a bit raw from the top edge of the "T". I took a look at the charging handle of my Colt AR-15 and saw that the top edge was considerably rounder when compared to the Plinker product. I'll probably file it down to a rounded edge and make it that much more user friendly.

Okay! Did the little mod on the PLINKER charge handle edge and I have to say that it definitely decreases discomfort and fatigue.

Here are a couple of pics of what I did. It didn't take too much to make a significant difference. This may be able to be reproduced in manufacturing with a simple bead blast on the top edge.

Thoughts?

It has been addressed. It would be a simple change to a larger corner rounding end mill. I am a fan of round edges and smooth lines.
There is an AR charging handle that has a bunch af grooves machined into the face where your fingers grab to pull it back. It is a positive grip surface, but you don't want to pull back a lot.
After the first time you load a round, why do you use the charging handle again?
I can see that you would unload the rifle if you didn't use the magazine completely, or if you were done hunting.

I got my NDZ charging handle installed and LOVE IT....price was right on point too.

By the way, NDZ has the picture on their site but you can't "buy it now" or "add to cart."

Call them and they will send you one. It's just not listed yet.

Is the handle causing any kind of "wear" to the plastic parts of the gun it comes in contact with? Also can you get it without the little picture on them?

Post some pics if you can.

I'll post pics when I get home.

Doesn't appear to be hurting anything, but I've only put 1000 rounds through rifle since installing.

Also, you have to remember that this thing does not cycle every time you shoot.....it only gets used to clear a jam or to release bolt without pressing release button. I might use it 5 times in a 500 round session......
