Hi I'm new to the forum but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with those spinning and resetting 22 plinking targets on amazon. They seem pretty cheap. I was wondering how long they hold up.
Well, back on topic, fun with plinkin targets, those spinner targets are great! I have one and as long as you use the recommended caliber, they'll last forever I'd imagine. However, they need to be modified to work properly. Don't try stickin the legs in the ground, doesn't work for long. Take two 2x4's around sixteen'ish inches and drill two holes in them so that the legs fit snug in the holes and don't come out (kinda like the target is wearin snow skis). It'll keep the target upright and in place pretty well. The paint chips off them pretty fast, but you can just add more stickers or just paint them some bright color so they stand out. I love my spinner targets and that little one incher is challenging at distance.
this is similar to the one I shoot.

Other than the spinner, 2lb propane tanks (those little disposables) shot with tracer rounds make nice fireballs from what I've seen on youtube, haha. Which got me wondering how tracers would light up a bit of gas fumes in a plastic soda bottle...although those would take off like rockets, so I'd imagine you'd need to secure them in place.
Sand filled plastic coffee jugs or buckets. Hollow points are fun for makin sodas blow up nice. And of course, lots of beer cans and any other stuff is lyin around.
All of this is done on private property and of course cleaned up every time.....after a thousand rounds or so anyhow...hehehe
