Pocket Knives

Happiness is a well worn pocket clip!
I couldn't agree more. A good clip is like a holster. Keeps it where you expect it when you need it.

I don't like clips nor serrated blades. I can't say I remove them, but I only have one because I avoid buying clips. I carry in my right pocket and find a pocket knife essential. My main one is a Gerber, light, thin, and cheap(er).

A long, long time ago I carried a Buck 501 in my pocket until it fell out a hole. Switched to a Buck 110 in a belt mounted sheath. That got to be a bit of overkill for opening potato chip bags. Now I carry a Benchmade 470 clipped to my pocket. Have never lost it.

I carried a Buck 110 on my belt for the majority of my work life. I put it up the day I retired and it seems that every time I think about carrying it again I end up reaching for one of Buck's lighter versions of the same knife.

I have used the clip on my knife for many years with no issues. I was glad when they started to be a standard thing on knives

Interesting. I've never lost a clip knife. The only damage is the trail edge of my Wrangler's front pocket shows considerable wear after a while. I will say the pocket clip on my Leatherman Skeletool isn't the best. It's tried to escape a few times when I've removed my seat belt. Fortunately, I've always found it hiding between the seat and console.

Thats the first thing i do actually.

Clips do Matter

I for one, really like that clip on my small slim
well sharpen knife.
I know exactly where that knife is.

Why is this important to me; walking the dog
the other day, at about the same moment we
seen this husky (maybe 100yds out) walking
toward us, didn't see the long rope attached
to it. Did not look friendly.

The one last fall luckily was friendly. It had
snuck up from behind, checking out my dog.

Two incidents where I was preparing my mind
to be bitten up and stabbing like a psycho.

Luckily nothing happened on both occasions.
