Point Shooting for Self Defense - Your Experiences

We don't have the legal ability to produce a gun in anticipation or preparation of a lethal threat. We must WAIT causing us to waste valuable time.

Who told you that bit of nonsense? Can you post the statute that says you can't have a gun in your hand when you feel you're in danger but not quite in fear for your life yet? I know of no law that says you can't have a gun in your hand, discretely hidden behind your leg or under a jacket when something doesn't "feel right". I've had my gun in hand more times than I can remember in a bar or restaurant when I didn't like the looks or actions of people who came in the door. I wasn't breaking any laws. If you really think you have to sit there and wait until some guy points a gun at you to get yours legally in your hand, no amount of "bench racing" about guns is going to make you a better self defense gun carrier. You don't have to be pointing it in someone's face to be ready to rock.
