Polishing an all-steel 3rd Gen TSW?

Here's a 3913 that I got in rough shape...after I completely disassembled it (you really have to)and filed the deep scratches, I glass peened the entire frame and slide. I used a bit less air on the alloy(40psi) than the slide(90psi), then hit the stainless with a 2" 3m green on an air grinder. After the 3m pad I hit the slide with a "grey" rouge on a buffing wheel and then used Simichrome as a final finish. Hope the result helps you plan...

Black Cerakote with polished extractor and safety.

A second one with the same treatment, just not an ambi safety gun.

I dont own these, they were customer slides.

But this will give you an idea on the Cerakote if your interested to see how they look coated. I am not sure about the tactical marking since I havent seen one yet.

The first thing I did when I picked up a TSW model was send it back to the factory. I told the PC to get rid of the etched billboard and roll mark the slide with the traditional logo.

I have been giving some thought to polishing the slide on my 4506.

The way your's came out makes me want to do it even more.

KurtC- Did they also black anodize the gun?? Or is that some other finish?? I assume that is a 3953TSW??

It is a 4553TSW. The factory did the black anodizing on the aluminum frame. The slide recieved a melonite treatment from an outside source. There are additional pics on the classified forum.

It doesn't appear that they polished off the TSW billboard. The slide has the typical factory satin finish, just as the rest of the pistol. I assume it is some sort of media blast.
