Poll: Are you a cat person?

I love cats and have had several world class felines. Don't care much for those that don't like cats but they probably don't care much for me either.

I hear ya. I really don't understand why folks will go out of their way to tell me how much they dislike house cats when they know how special they are to me.

Meanness, I guess.

All mine have gone across the rainbow bridge, really miss them. Can not have pets where I live now but have a couple of mostly feral cats that I feed. One ole Tom is starting to calm down. Tamed a few last place I lived. Best to catch them, to vet to get fixed and ear clipped, not to bad.

Cat people. We had to put our beloved Oliver kitty to sleep at the end of September. :(

We still have his fur brother Chessie. He's a good little guy. He just got a mouse downstairs. Extra treats for him after supper.

Oliver is the tabby, Chessie is the tiger.

Rusty er al, It's a macho thing. those guys insecure in there manhood bolster their manhood by proclaiming their hated for cats. I know, I was once guilty of it myself. I was one of the lucky ones I finally saw the truth, thanks to Frito.

Happiness is a cat sleeping next to you in the bed. We have 3 of them every night.

My wife rescued this little guy a few months ago. He's gonna be a good one I can tell, but I don't think he'll be a great one. When she was trying to come up with a name for him, she said, "I don't know what to call him, but he sure is a pistol". So I suggested Pistol Pete. He for sure is a pistol. He gets the zoomies every evening and tears around the house like a wild man. Hasn't torn anything up yet. She was worried about the dachshunds trying to hurt him, but Pete gives 'em hell.

I was never a "Cat Person" until one morning I walked out on my back deck and felt something rubbing on my leg !! I looked down and discovered a young cat. The cat was very quiet and loving and I thought that It problely was a neighbor's. The cat stayed around the deck and I put a ad in the local paper as I was sure that the cat was lost. NOPE, no response from my ad. After a couple of days I finally gave the cat some water and later some food. This darn cat considers this is her home and gets fed twice a day when my two dogs are fed. I guess now I am a "Cat Person".

I love dogs and cats, but I am just not a "little" dog person. I've had at least 1 cat and at times 3 or 4 almost continuously for the last 40 years. Since I downsized, after a divorce, and moved into the city, the new yard isn't really large enough for a large dog to run but I keep looking for the right one. My current feline buddies are great company.

These would be cool if they could be domesticated:

They are sneaky little devils

We love cats and have always had one. One of the things that I love about them is their eyes,,, how their pupils can change depending on what they intend to do. Always a giveaway when they are ready to pounce. I am also amazed how they can stare you down as I have had to look away many times when they make their mind up not to be intimidated. Love our Smokey.

My cat is on my lap as I type this.
Five years ago she disappeared in the first week of December. After two weeks I started looking for another cat, a week later she showed up with a very well fed look. She'd been mooching off neighbors down the row.

Love all furry friends. Even if you don't like cats, for whatever reason is festering in your soul, they are the best vermin control you can have. Should keep one or two around anyway just for that.

A Poll without a Poll is meaningless, but you knew that

I'm sorry but I just don't get why people like cats. Dogs yes. But cats? Dogs truly want to please you and make great pets. But cats? In my less than humble opinion cats serve no purpose. They only care about themselves. They dig up your furniture and leave fur all over the place and don't even get me started on those smelly litter boxes. If you have a rodent problem on a farm yes, but if you don't have a farm or a large property with rodents can anyone make a legitimate argument on the reason to have cats?

Well I feel better knowing you guys like your cats.
Dogs are kinda dumb. More like me I guess.
.

Creating a thread just to tell nearly half the country that what they hold dear you see no purpose in, and that's smart?
