Depends On The Target

At times, sarcasm is but another tool of creative writing. I'm inclined to use it in general discussion and on rare occasion when it would not be directed to a specific individual or poster.

First and foremost, even though you may strongly disagree with a poster's or forum member's position, Sarcasm runs the risk of of turning a colorful objective discussion into an emotional one with personal attacks, A/K/A flame wars.

When in doubt, always take the higher ground.

No. Believe it or not, there are people out there who won't laugh it off. They feel obliged to return fire. These things escalate, get downright nasty. Pretty soon the moderators are forced to take charge. One of the nicest features of this forum is it's civility. Let's keep it that way.
