As soon as I looked at the poll choices I knew the OP was a youngster! I was born in the darkest days of WWII and I'm 71 now. Some days I feel like half that age (mainly when I am out riding my motorcycle) and other days feel every year of my 71. Not being careful enough to take care of myself in my younger years, I am now the product of modern medicine. Quintuple bypass 18 years ago; double knee replacements; partial corneal transplants and several minor operations have helped offset the carelessness of youth.

Maybe I have good genes, since my Mom turns 100 in a few months. But then again, my Dad who never smoked, exercised regularly and was a health nut, died before his 64th birthday from lung cancer. I figure that if I'm lucky I've got about 20 more years in me, enough to see my 10th grandchild reach his 21st birthday.

At my age I keep thinking about simplifying my life but I keep wanting new toys. Lately I've been thinking that I REALLY need a good 45 caliber revolver......

You are a youngster, Vito!

Let's see, when I was born: Alaska had just become a state and Hawaii wasn't quite one (later that same year).
The supposed last Confederate Veteran died that year.

Right there with ya on the plumbing. I had two stents put in last year. It was less painful and only slightly more down time than a root canal. I got no complaint about goin home, but I would like to shoot some more six guns first.

You won't find any tombstones saying "Dang, wish I'd worked longer hours and stressed some more".

Birth certificate says 59, but folks would freak if I acted that old... 😆

Seventy-seven as of today. Don't look or feel a day over ninety-two.

But there are guys here who make me feel like a callow youth. Or is it "yallow couth"? Can't keep that sort of thing sorted out these days. :)
